Technical Lead for Plantations

Role Purpose

• Lead Technical Marketing Development for Plantations crops, providing technical leadership to drive sustainable business growth.
• Develop and execute technical strategies supporting NPI, product launches, new opportunities, and portfolio growth.
• Provide technical expertise, field validation, and customer support to strengthen product positioning, adoption, and value proposition.
• Translate agronomic and market insights into practical technical solutions, crop programs, and marketing strategies.
• Build technical capability of Sales, Key Accounts, distributors, and relevant stakeholders.
• Support Portfolio Management in PLCM, product strategy, stewardship, and long-term portfolio development.

Technical Marketing & Product Development

• Develop technical strategies and value propositions for priority Plantation crops and products.
• Lead technical support for NPI, launches, new opportunities, and product lifecycle initiatives.
• Provide technical inputs to brand plans, campaigns, positioning, and product recommendations.
• Identify emerging agronomic needs and translate them into business opportunities.

Field Development & Technical Validation

• Lead technical trials, demonstrations, and field validation programs.
• Develop protocols, evaluate results, and generate credible technical evidence.
• Translate field data into product positioning, recommendations, and customer solutions.
• Monitor product performance, competitive technologies, and market technical trends.

Customer & Commercial Support

• Provide technical support to Key Accounts, Sales, distributors, and growers.
• Support customer visits, field assessments, demonstrations, technical meetings, and troubleshooting.
• Develop customized technical solutions for strategic customers.
• Capture field and customer insights to improve portfolio and marketing strategies.

Technical Capability & Stewardship

• Develop and deliver technical training for Sales, KAMs, distributors, and other stakeholders.
• Serve as technical subject matter expert for Plantations.
• Support resistance management, responsible use, and product stewardship.
• Ensure technical claims and recommendations are accurate, compliant, and evidence-based.

Portfolio & PLCM Support

• Provide technical inputs to PLCM and 5-year portfolio strategies.
• Identify opportunities for product optimization, differentiation, new uses, mixtures, and integrated solutions.
• Support Portfolio Manager in product growth, defense, and lifecycle decisions.

Technical Support Accountabilities

• Manage and supervise crop demonstartion farms (Banana, Pineapple and other PLN strategic crops)
• Monitor market intelligence, bringing actionable customer insight into portfolio strategy and marketing plan
• Provide technical support for Banana, Pineapple, Sugarcane, and other strategic Plantation crops.
• Support pest, disease, agronomic, and product-performance diagnosis.
• Develop technically sound crop protection programs and recommendations.
• Lead technical troubleshooting and field issue resolution.
• Support product efficacy, application, compatibility, timing, and positioning.
• Lead technical demonstrations and field days.
• Support resistance management and stewardship programs.
• Maintain technical knowledge, field data, and best-practice recommendations.
• Act as technical escalation point for complex field and customer issues.
