  • Conceptualize in vivo T cell therapeutic product candidates applying Stylus non-viral recombinase engineering platform and build molecular designs to realize these product concepts
  • Develop experimental strategies and immune cell-based testing systems to rigorously evaluate product candidate functional performance for development candidate nomination and preclinical data package generation
  • Work closely with direct reports to focus experimental design and execution on solving key questions and scientific problems for the lead program and innovations, with hands-on lab contributions as necessary
  • Lead, manage, mentor, and develop team of direct report scientists
  • Apply immunology expertise in collaborative work with multi-disciplinary team members and external partners to execute programs consistent with overall strategy
  • Communicate scientific concepts, strategies, status updates, and experimental results across the organization and to various high-level stakeholders
  • Drive and deliver results with speed and rigor with timeline, milestone, and budgetary awareness
  • Actively monitor the latest literature and technologies in the field to inspire or inform innovation and present Stylus data externally as appropriate
  • May lead or manage collaborations with external partners ranging from academic, CROs and corporate entities to advance programs

Qualifications & Skills:

  • PhD in Molecular or Cellular Biology, Virology, Immunology or related field of study with deep Immunology expertise
  • 8+ years of post-graduate experience with a minimum of 5 years of drug discovery experience in the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry
  • Proven track-record of leading programs in immunology, immunotherapy or engineered immune cell therapy from early drug discovery to IND, with experience in CART
  • A clear track record of accomplishment as demonstrated by clearly identifiable achievements such as patents, new initiatives, IND preparation, and publications
  • Demonstrated expertise in immune-modulating molecule design and application of design-test-optimize cycles for functional evaluation of immune-relevant gene and cell therapy cargos
  • Previous experience in the areas of T cell engaging bispecific antibodies and antibody discovery is preferred
  • Experience managing and developing scientists as direct reports
  • Ability to excel in internal and external cross-functional collaborations
  • Ability to think critically, extract and synthesize simple principles from complex datasets and communicate them effectively
