Learning & Development Partner – Data Engineering Business

Role Purpose
The Learning & Development Partner will work closely with the Data Engineering business leadership to design, drive, and deliver learning strategies that build critical technical capability, leadership depth, and future-ready skills. This role acts as a strategic partner to the business, ensuring learning directly enables business growth, delivery excellence, and talent readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnership & Strategy
•
Partner with Data Engineering leaders to understand business priorities, capability gaps, and future skill needs.
•
Translate business goals into structured learning roadmaps covering technical, leadership, and behavioral competencies.
•
Develop and execute an AI capability-building roadmap for employees, aligned with business priorities and emerging technology trends.
•
Act as a trusted advisor to leaders on talent development and skill readiness.
Technical and Capability Development
•
Design and curate learning interventions for Data Engineering roles.
•
Leverage internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and external partners to create high-impact, contextual learning programs.
•
Ensure learning pathways are role-based, progressive, and aligned to career growth.
•
Leverage AI tools for content design and development, and learning operations.
Leadership and Behavioral Development
•
Support the design and delivery of leadership development programs for technical and people leaders within the Data Engineering function.
•
Embed skills such as communication, stakeholder management, execution excellence, and people leadership.
Learning Governance and Effectiveness
•
Define success metrics to measure learning effectiveness and business impact.
•
Review learning outcomes through feedback from managers, mentors, and participants.
•
Continuously refine programs based on data, feedback, and evolving business needs.
•
Leverage Learning Management Systems (LMS) to track learning progress, adoption, and effectiveness, with a working understanding of LMS capabilities and governance.
Stakeholder and Program Management
•
Manage multiple learning initiatives simultaneously while ensuring quality, timelines, and alignment.
•
Collaborate closely with HR, Talent, and leadership teams to drive cohesive development outcomes.
Required Experience & Skills
Experience
•
10–13 years of experience in Learning & Development, with prior experience supporting Data Engineering or similar technical businesses.
•
Understanding of Data Engineering roles, skills, and career progression.
•
Proven experience in business partnering and influencing senior stakeholders.
•
Experience designing structured learning journeys covering both technical and leadership development.
•
Ability to translate complex technical needs into effective learning solutions.
Skills
•
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and execution skills.
•
Strong reporting and analytics capability, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to generate clear, insightful monthly learning reports and dashboards.
