We are seeking a graduate to join our Enterprise Risk, Ethics & Compliance (EREC) function in a “learn with guidance” role. You will perform a range of tasks supporting EREC activities, Corporate Services initiatives and broader business priorities, assist experienced team members, learn and apply Scyne policies and procedures, and participate actively in team discussions and learning opportunities. This role can be based in either Melbourne or Canberra.
Working with experienced risk professionals and stakeholders across Scyne, including Corporate Services, Client Risk & Quality and other business teams, you will gain practical exposure to enterprise risk, ethics, compliance, ESG, business continuity, crisis preparedness and assurance. You will receive direction, coaching and feedback as you build your technical and professional capability.
What You Will Do
- With guidance, support the maintenance and refresh of enterprise risk documentation, risk profiles, risk appetite statements and tolerance measures.
- Assist experienced team members with risk, compliance and assurance monitoring, including tracking actions, controls, treatments and agreed management responses.
- Help prepare accurate reports, presentations, committee papers and communications, applying Scyne templates, policies and brand guidelines.
- Contribute to policy reviews, guidance materials, training resources and employee awareness activities as requested.
- Support ESG data collection, validation and reporting, and participate in related improvement initiatives.
- Support organisational resilience activities, including business impact assessments, business continuity and crisis management planning, incident playbooks, resilience exercises and action tracking.
- Conduct research and analysis on emerging risks, regulatory developments and good practice, and share findings with the team.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Scyne, offer support to peers and contribute ideas during problem-solving and improvement activities.
What Makes You an Ideal Candidate
You are ambitious, curious and ready to begin your career in an environment where you will be supported, challenged and encouraged to contribute from day one.
- You ask curious questions, contribute ideas and enjoy solving problems with guidance.
- You communicate clearly, use language appropriate to the audience and take care to produce accurate, well-structured work.
- You manage your workload, seek support on prioritisation and are committed to completing tasks to the expected standard.
- You actively seek coaching and feedback, reflect on what you observe and work on consistent improvement themes.
- You work well with others, offer support to peers and contribute positively to team discussions and learning opportunities.
- You recognise and demonstrate Scyne’s values, Code of Conduct, policies and ethical standards, and seek guidance when faced with an ethical dilemma.
- You are interested in governance, risk, ethics, compliance, assurance, ESG or organisational resilience and understand how individual contributions support team goals.
- You are self-motivated, willing to take on appropriate additional responsibilities and bring a positive, solutions-focused mindset.
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Have completed a minimum bachelor’s degree in 2025/2026. Relevant fields may include but are not limited to business, commerce, law, governance, risk, accounting, finance, audit, economics, public policy, sustainability, technology, data and analytics, artificial intelligence, project management or a related discipline.
- Be able to commence in March 2027.
- Be willing and eligible to complete required pre-employment screening and obtain an AGSVA security clearance if required for the role.
No prior work experience is required. Working knowledge of a relevant field from tertiary studies is desirable, and related internships, placements, part-time work or volunteering will be highly regarded.
