Senior Associate, Global Payment Services

The Senior Associate, Global Payment Services is responsible for executing and overseeing payment operations with accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical capability, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple business functions. Reporting to Associate Director, you will:

• Execute, approve, and process payments accurately in accordance with established procedures, control requirements, and documentation standards, while maintaining strict adherence to maker-checker protocols, limits of authority, and callback verification procedures.
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and errors through root cause analysis, identify recurring operational issues and trends through data analysis, and escalate critical exceptions promptly to senior leadership.
• Maintain operational control strength by ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations, supporting control gap identification and remediation efforts, and maintaining current procedures, checklists, and documentation aligned with firm standards.
• Serve as a primary liaison between clients, investment managers, and internal teams (Treasury, Banking Operations, Client Operations, Technology) to ensure timely payment execution, clear communication during handovers, and alignment on operational requirements across regions.
• Identify and support opportunities to enhance process efficiency, accuracy, and control strength, including participation in system enhancements, workflow optimization, and automation initiatives that strengthen the global payments operating model.
• Maintain awareness of operational risks, evolving market practices, and regulatory updates related to payment processing, while supporting internal and external audit requests and contributing to broader GPS initiatives and special projects.

• Understanding of global payment processes, including settlement flows and banking connectivity.
• Knowledge of SWIFT payment formatting and field definitions; MX experience is an advantage.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Postsecondary education in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify meaningful insights.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
• Experience supporting process improvements or operational initiatives is an asset.
• Working knowledge of the fund administration industry is advantageous.
