Learning and Development Specialist

Reporting to the  Director of Talent Development, the  Learning Specialist   is primarily responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality training across the organization,  facilitating  instructor-led and virtual sessions up to five days per week. This role partners closely with the Senior  Learning Specialist  and the Director   of Talent Development   to bring designed curricula to life for employees at all levels and across MidPen's distributed workforce.

Responsibilities:

Training Delivery & Facilitation:

  • Facilitate instructor-led and virtual training sessions on a regular, recurring schedule, up to five days per week, including onboarding, professional skills, leadership, technical, and compliance topics.
  • Deliver consistent, engaging learning experiences using adult learning principles and active learning techniques across in-person and virtual environments (Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
  • Manage classroom and virtual session logistics in partnership with the Learning Administrator, including materials, technology setup, and participant engagement.
  • Adapt delivery style, pacing, and examples to a diverse, distributed workforce, including onsite and remote employees.

Supporting Instructional Design & Content:

  • Support the design and updating of training materials, participant guides, and job aids in partnership with the Senior Learning Specialist.
  • Provide input on course content based on direct facilitation experience and learner feedback.
  • Assist with piloting new training modules and provide structured feedback to inform revisions.

Program & Learner Support:

  • Support onboarding and New Employee Orientation delivery.
  • Monitor learner engagement and participation during sessions, document attendance, and communicate follow-up needs to the Learning Administrator.
  • Respond to learner questions and provide follow-up coaching or support after sessions as needed.
  • Evaluate session-level outcomes and gather feedback to inform continuous improvement.

Collaboration & Administration:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, People Team partners, and business leaders to ensure content remains relevant and accurate.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and completion data in the Learning Management System in partnership with the Learning Administrator.
  • Stay current on facilitation best practices, adult learning trends, and new delivery technologies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Resources, Communication, Organizational Development, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in training facilitation or delivery, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills; comfortable leading groups of varying sizes in person and virtually.
  • Working knowledge of adult learning principles and active instructional techniques.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume, recurring facilitation schedule with consistency, energy, and professionalism.
  • Comfortable using virtual meeting and training technology (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, polling and breakout tools).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and learning styles.
  • Familiarity with instructional design principles and Learning Management Systems.
  • Highly organized and reliable, with the ability to manage multiple session schedules and locations.
  • Ability to receive and apply feedback quickly to continuously improve delivery quality.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills .

Pay Range

$77,600 - $87,300 Annual Salary - Pay based on applicable experience and qualifications

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
