Overview

Ditto is a dating service for college students. No swiping, no small talk. Every Wednesday at 7PM, Ditto finds you a date and sets it up for you, entirely over iMessage. We're live at 733 US colleges with over 176,000+ students signed up, and we're growing campus by campus.

Ditto spreads the way college things actually spread: through people. Posters in dorm lobbies, someone's roommate who went on a great date, a student ambassador who knows exactly which group chat to drop a link into. The Head of Community Operations owns all of that. You'll build and run the ambassador program, turn campus launches into a repeatable playbook, and make sure the on-the-ground side of Ditto runs as reliably as the Wednesday match drop does.

This is a founding leadership role. You'll report directly to the CEO and start as a player-coach: doing the work yourself while building the systems and team to do it at scale.

What you'll do

Ambassador program

  • Own the Ditto Ambassador program end to end: recruiting, onboarding, training, compensation and incentives, performance tracking, and offboarding.
  • Recruit ambassadors on new and existing campuses, with a clear picture of who succeeds in the role and where to find them.
  • Design the ambassador playbook: what a great week looks like, which tactics move signups, how to handle common questions about Ditto.
  • Build the communication and support layer for ambassadors (community channels, weekly syncs, content drops, quick response when they need something).
  • Track ambassador-level attribution and performance, and manage the network actively: double down on top performers, coach or rotate out those who aren't landing.

Campus growth operations

  • Own the campus launch playbook and run launches at new schools, from first ambassador hire to a healthy weekly signup rate.
  • Run the campus operating cadence: weekly targets per school, poster and flyer distribution, tabling and event presence, referral pushes, and timing around the school calendar (move-in, syllabus week, formals, finals).
  • Coordinate with marketing on campus-specific content, and with the product and matching team on which schools need more density on one side or the other to keep match quality high.
  • Manage the physical side of growth: poster printing and shipping, ambassador merch, event supplies, and the budget behind all of it.
  • Report on campus health weekly: signups, qualified users, match volume, and where the pipeline is thin.

Community and operations, overall

  • Be the voice of students inside Ditto. Gather feedback from ambassadors and users on the ground and route it to product, matching, and support with enough context to act on.
  • Build the operational tooling and documentation the community team runs on (CRM or tracker for ambassadors, launch checklists, budget tracking, reporting dashboards).
  • Partner with the ops team on the Wednesday cycle where community touches it, such as promoting sign-up deadlines and handling campus-specific issues that surface around match delivery.
  • Hire and manage the community team as the program grows (regional leads, campus managers, community coordinators).

Who you are

  • 4+ years in community, campus marketing, field operations, or growth at a consumer company, and at least 1 to 2 years managing a distributed network of part-time reps, ambassadors, or contractors.
  • You've launched something in new markets before and turned it into a repeatable process. You think in playbooks, checklists, and weekly numbers.
  • You're deeply comfortable with college students. You understand how information travels on a campus and can tell which ideas will land and which will feel like a brand trying too hard.
  • You're operationally rigorous. You keep trackers honest, follow up on loose ends, and notice when a number moves before anyone asks.
  • You're a strong communicator over text and in person. Most of your team will be students you manage remotely, and most of your day will be messages.
  • You can hold a budget, negotiate with a print shop, and build a dashboard in the same week.
  • Bonus: you were a campus ambassador or ran a student organization yourself, or you've worked on a product where referrals and word of mouth were the primary acquisition channel.

Why this role

  • You own a whole growth channel at a company where growth is the company. Your work shows up directly in how many students get a date on Wednesday.
  • Small team, direct access to the founders, and a lot of room to shape how community works here from the ground up.
  • Ditto is a real-world product. The outcome of your work is people actually meeting each other, not screen time.
