About this role
- Lead and mentor a team of approximately 5 software engineers and quantum software engineers.
- Support the development of research-oriented software and associated workflows.
- Work with physicists and mathematicians to develop production-grade software required for running fault-tolerant quantum computing.
- Work closely with Atom Computing’s quantum error correction team to understand use cases and deliver software and developer experiences that address the needs of the team.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or related field, PhD is a plus.
- Experience leading a small engineering team.
- 5+ years of post-degree experience as a software engineer.
- Proven track record leading teams to develop and deliver complex software
- Strong background in software development, including experience with research-oriented scientific software
- A high tolerance for uncertainty and ambiguity
- Collaborative mindset and experience working on a multidisciplinary team
- Experience with quantum computing and quantum error correction are preferred
