As a Stress Analysis Engineer, you will join the  Derby  team to support our activities within the aerospace sector.

Overview

We are seeking a Stress Analysis Engineer to support the analysis and modelling of complex aerospace engineering components within a highly technical environment. This role offers the opportunity to work on advanced rotating equipment and engine systems, contributing to critical engineering assessments, technical reviews, and design validation activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for engineers looking to apply their structural and stress analysis expertise to challenging aerospace applications while working alongside experienced multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform stress and structural analysis on aerospace components and assemblies.
  • Conduct engine and rotating equipment modelling activities using industry-standard analysis tools.
  • Assess component performance under static, dynamic, and impact loading conditions.
  • Produce technical reports and present findings to engineering stakeholders.
  • Participate in engineering reviews and provide recommendations to support design decisions.
  • Ensure analysis activities are completed in accordance with project and industry requirements.

Required Skills:

  • Experience in stress analysis, structural analysis, or impact analysis within an aerospace or automotive environment.
  • Proficiency with ANSYS for finite element analysis and structural assessments.
  • Experience using LS-DYNA for explicit dynamics, impact, or non-linear simulations.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, design data, and technical specifications.
  • Strong technical reporting and problem-solving skills.
  • Typically 4-6 years of relevant engineering experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering , or  equivalent   military experience .

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Abaqus.
  • Knowledge of composite material analysis.
  • Previous experience analysing rotating equipment, engine components, or similar high-performance systems.

Security Clearance:

Candidates must be willing and eligible to obtain BPSS clearance.
