Our Retail Operations & Transformation team are laser-focused on critical metrics—driving SAP support, efficiency of in-store operations, checkout performance and play a key role with new store openings & ownership changes across all three banners.
 
Te Tūranga – About the role   
This is a senior, enterprise-wide role accountable for protecting retail margin through a disciplined, data-led approach to loss prevention, shrink reduction, and integrity controls across our store network.
As a key member of our Retail Operations & Transformation Leadership Team, you’ll set the strategic direction for loss and integrity, lead the design and delivery of an integrated shrink programme, and ensure sustainable, compliant capability is embedded across the business. A key initial focus will be leading the implementation and governance of Facial Recognition Technology (FRT) as a core loss prevention tool.
 
Key responsibilities include:
Setting strategy and vision for margin protection, loss prevention, and retail integrity across Foodstuffs
Designing and delivering an enterprise shrink and loss prevention programme with measurable outcomes
Leading the rollout and optimisation of Facial Recognition Technology, ensuring operational effectiveness and legal compliance
Partnering closely with Legal, Privacy, Regulatory and Compliance teams on data and privacy obligations
Building strong cross-functional relationships across Store Operations, IT, Product, and external partners
Establishing performance metrics, reporting and insights to drive continuous improvement
Leading risk assessments, audits, and incident responses, including engagement with regulators and law enforcement
Embedding capability, training and change to ensure stores can adopt and sustain loss prevention practices

You’re an experienced senior leader with deep expertise in loss prevention, retail risk, or integrity, and a track record of delivering measurable outcomes at scale.
We’re looking for someone who brings:
Extensive experience in senior loss prevention, shrink, security, or risk roles in large retail/FMCG environments
Proven success leading enterprise-wide loss prevention or shrink programmes across multiple sites
Experience leading technology-enabled solutions (e.g. facial recognition, CCTV, analytics)
Strong knowledge of privacy, data protection, and regulatory frameworks, particularly in customer-facing environments
Exceptional stakeholder leadership and influencing skills across executive and operational teams
Advanced analytical and commercial capability, with the ability to translate insights into business impact
Strong programme delivery, governance, and change leadership skills
A continuous improvement mindset with high integrity and a willingness to challenge the status quo
