At Unispace, our approach to workplace strategy is rooted in our belief that space shapes outcomes. We are looking for a strategic and visionary Principal Workplace Strategy to join our growing team. Based in Auckland, this role will be fundamental in shaping and leading the development of workplace strategy across New Zealand, supporting a wide range of clients across various sectors. This individual will initially report to our Head of Sales for New Zealand.
This is a high-impact role working across marketing, strategy, design, and client services. You’ll partner closely with sales and design teams to create transformative workplace solutions that respond to business challenges and future trends.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the development and delivery of workplace strategy across our ANZ projects.
• Act as a strategic adviser to clients, helping them reimagine their workplace through data-driven insights, vision setting, and storytelling.
• Form and lead pitch strategies and compelling storylines tailored to client objectives.
• Define project scopes, timelines, and programmes, working in alignment with our global process.
• Collaborate with internal teams to craft project briefs, define workplace visions, and drive clarity around the ‘why’ behind each initiative.
• Analyse business and real estate drivers, industry shifts, and workforce behaviours to influence strategy.
• Lead and facilitate client presentations and stakeholder engagement sessions.
• Build and maintain high-level relationships with clients and partners, becoming a trusted thought leader.
• Create strategic plans and opportunity proposals that align with client objectives and Unispace’s unique value proposition.
• Develop change management strategies and lead associated communication plans.
• Produce thought leadership materials and go-to-market strategies to support business growth.
• Partner with sales and marketing teams to enhance positioning and messaging.
• Contribute to global workplace strategy frameworks and toolkits.
What We’re Looking For:
• Proven experience in workplace strategy, preferably in the design, architecture, real estate, or consulting space.
• Strong client-facing and presentation skills, with a background in leading stakeholder engagements.
• Ability to build a compelling strategic narrative backed by research, analytics, and business logic.
• Adept at managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Confident in distilling complex ideas and producing clear, engaging strategies.
• Comfortable leading cross-functional teams and aligning diverse stakeholders.
• Visionary thinker with the ability to translate workplace trends into actionable strategies.
