Timmons Group is looking for a talented Civil Designer or Senior Civil Designer to join our dynamic Land Development Group in Charleston, SC . The qualified individual will perform civil site design tasks for a variety of land development projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- As an individual contributor, uses professional judgment to direct and independently complete assigned engineering designs.
- Lead and execute civil site design tasks across diverse land development projects.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and mentor junior engineers.
- Perform QA/QC reviews and ensure technical accuracy.
- Make impactful design decisions that align with client goals and project timelines.
- Identify and resolve technical, scheduling, or financial challenges.
- Support construction oversight and respond to contractor inquiries.
- Contribute to proposals, cost estimates, and client communications.
- Acts as technical expert on assigned projects when operating as an individual contributor and acts as Project Manager on smaller scope or specialty projects as assigned.
Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
- An ideal candidate will have at least five years of civil design experience.
- Intermediate to advanced AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to develop financial project management skills through assigned project work and assigned project management assignments.
- Ability to manage tasks independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive, professional mindset with a focus on client success.
