JOB OVERVIEW
The Temp, Materials, is responsible for helping facilitate all fabric and trim development. This individual will partner with the cross-functional teams to support the execution of seasonal fabric and trim developments that meet all aesthetic requirements and align with sourcing strategy and cost targets.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare fabric packages and send them to potential mills/vendors for sourcing
Prepare packages for lab dips and strike-offs for material development
Manage all development files, seasonal recaps, and processes statuses
Manage all fabric submissions, developments, and approvals
Maintain fabric and trim reference libraries for existing and future garments
Maintain lap dips and strike offs files
Measure samples as needed
Track samples with vendors
Receive and distribute packages within the materials department/team
Assist with data entry projects, as needed
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Proficient in Microsoft Applications
Strong organizational skills
Ability to measure garments
Ability to prioritize workflow based on deadlines
Ability to problem-solve and communicate all issues to cross-functional departments
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree or technical trade school and equivalent
Minimum 1-year experience in materials and apparel product development
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT (if applicable)
Work is performed in a designated professional office workstation and environment.
Extensive use of office equipment, including computer, calculator, copier, fax, and other business-related machines and software.
