Mid-Level Python Developer

About the Role:

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to build, maintain, and optimize high-concurrency backend systems for client projects. You will own features end-to-end, taking them from technical design to deployment. You will leverage modern async Python, strict type-safety, and AI-assisted workflows to ship resilient code fast.

What You Will Do :

• Feature Delivery: Own backend features end-to-end from schema design and API endpoints to production deployment.
• API & Core Development: Write clean, well-tested async Python code (e.g., FastAPI) and apply modern type-safety practices.
• Data & System Integration: Integrate backend services with relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy/SQLModel), caching layers, and asynchronous message queues.
• Smart Engineering: Integrate AI-assisted workflows (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot) across your daily lifecycle to rapidly prototype, write boilerplate, expand test coverage, and debug faster.
• Quality & Reliability: Write comprehensive automated tests, optimize query performance, and ensure feature reliability in production.
• Team Collaboration: Work alongside cross-functional squads and client teams to refine technical specs, conduct code reviews, and ship software iteratively.

What We Are Looking For:

• Modern Python: Strong hands-on experience with Python 3.11+, including async programming (asyncio), typing, and REST API frameworks (e.g., FastAPI).
• Database & Data Modeling: Practical experience working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and writing efficient SQL/ORM queries.
• Engineering Practices: Proven habits around automated testing (pytest), code quality, structured logging, and git-based workflows.
• Production Delivery: Experience shipping code to production, working with containers (Docker), and understanding basic deployment processes.
• Communication: Professional English fluency; ability to explain technical decisions clearly to teammates.

Nice to Have:

• Practical experience with AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor), or openness to integrating them into your development habits.
• Knowledge of integrating AI/LLM components into backend workflows (e.g., LangChain, vector databases).
• Experience with message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka) or key-value stores (Redis).
• Familiarity with modern package managers, linters, and formatters (e.g., uv, Poetry, Ruff).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
• German language skills (B2+).
