In your new role, you will coordinate, plan, supervise, and perform general building and facilities maintenance functions for your client site.  Duties will include:

  • Troubleshooting problems
  • Perform necessary painting, carpentry
  • Outdoor maintenance (snow removal, lawn care, etc.)
  • Basic plumbing, electrical and HVAC experience
  • You will source appropriate and approved 3rd party vendors, manages the work order system, creates efficiencies within processes, and ensures preventative maintenance programs on equipment and building systems are developed and implemented, including performing work themselves as required.
  • You will propose maintenance-related recommendations to Sodexo leadership and/or clients, and prepares the related pricing/budget, then ensures the approved work is completed according to standards, within budget, and promptly.
  • You will also support completion of the contracted activities at the assigned sites.
  • Safety, Quality, and Compliance
  • Perform regular safety audits and inspections, and ensures adherence to safety compliance, including the timely reporting and appropriate investigations of any incidents, accidents, and near-miss occurrences.
  • Ensure consistency within operations and compliance to all company and client policies and procedures as well as legislative requirements.
  • Adheres to all Sodexo programs and actively works to find innovations and efficiencies within operations.
  • Provide reporting on safety and compliance items as required.
  • Ensure regular safety training and meetings are being conducted.
  • Ensure all safety compliance audits and logs are completed and recorded timely.


Employee Oversight / HR Management

  • Supervises staff day-to-day which may include, but is not limited to, the following:
  • Creates and maintains staff schedules ensuring appropriate coverage and backup,
  • Oversees performance management (coaching, discipline)
  • Coordinates training of staff
  • Provides motivation and recognition


Health, Safety and Risk Management

  • Participates and completes required training for this role per safety management system
  • Post-secondary education in a trade or equivalent certification.
  • You must possess Power Engineering Level 4 certification at minimum or 5th class: Boiler operator, heating plant operator, refrigeration plant operator.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in preventative maintenance programs and general maintenance
  • 3-5 years experience with customer service dealing with building clients and tenants or residents
  • MS Office Word, Excel, email
  • CMMS systems
  • Life Safety Fire Systems experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience leading/supervising others
  • Proven experience managing contracts
  • Reliable vehicle, Class 5 Drivers License
  • Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
