About the role
Runtime owns the lowest layers of the SambaNova stack, working directly with the hardware to maximize application performance and utilization, and providing the software infrastructure that everything above it depends on. We're seeking a seasoned engineer to work across this stack, supporting AI, ML, and scientific applications on large distributed systems. You'll build, test, and deploy the compute systems our customers run production workloads on. We're looking for strong programming skills, experience building and tuning software for distributed systems, and solid teamwork and planning.

In this role, you'll design and implement new features across the runtime stack to support high-performance, scalable ML inference and training, including drivers and kernel for our next-generation silicon. You'll build user-space libraries that maximize hardware performance and utilization, along with user-facing tools for analysis, profiling, debugging, and job and hardware management on DataScale systems. You'll collaborate closely with teams across Hardware, ML Applications, Compiler, and DevOps to bring it all together.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional experience
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Python
- Experience with user space libraries, operating systems, and kernel drivers
- Experience working with highly concurrent and distributed systems, with a focus on performance and scalability
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with different types of fabrics, such as PCIe, Infiniband, and RoCE
- Experience with fast networking stacks, such as RDMA
