About Paxos

Today's financial infrastructure is archaic, expensive, inefficient and risky — supporting a system that leaves out more people than it lets in. So we're rebuilding it.

We're on a mission to open the world's financial system to everyone by enabling the instant movement of any asset, any time, in a trustworthy way. For over a decade, we've built blockchain infrastructure that tokenizes, custodies, trades and settles assets for the world's leading financial institutions, like PayPal, Venmo, Mastercard and Interactive Brokers.

About the team

Our Compliance team is the cornerstone of Paxos' regulation-first approach, ensuring we maintain the highest standards of regulatory compliance while enabling innovation. The team combines deep regulatory expertise with a practical understanding of blockchain technology to develop and implement robust compliance programs. We work closely with business units and product teams to create solutions that protect our company and customers while facilitating growth in both traditional and digital asset environments.

About the role

As a Governance & Oversight Program Manager, you will lead critical compliance and regulatory initiatives across our organization. You will ensure program execution, translating complex compliance and regulatory requirements into actionable plans, while partnering closely with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, legal, and audit to execute on these deliverables. You will drive accountability, process improvements, and regulatory remediation efforts, ensuring the organization meets its compliance objectives efficiently and sustainably.

What you'll do

  • Lead end-to-end cross-functional compliance enhancement and remediation initiatives, aligning compliance, legal, product, and engineering teams to execute initiatives effectively.
  • Translate complex regulatory and compliance requirements into clear action plans and technical solutions
  • Manage remediation efforts and regulatory compliance outcomes, ensuring sustainable, defensible, and documented results.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and lead meaningful process and control improvements to enhance program effectiveness and scalability.
  • Apply critical thinking to evaluate potential solutions for compliance issues, process enhancements, and regulatory remediation.
  • Drive accountability across stakeholders, ensuring ownership, follow-through, and timely delivery of assigned responsibilities.
  • Anticipate emerging risks, evolving regulatory expectations, and potential execution challenges, escalating with mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Establish and uphold best-in-class organizational and documentation practices to support governance, audit readiness, and long-term scalability.
  • Utilize data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Looker) to validate, test, and improve compliance processes and controls.

About you

Required qualifications:

  • Experience as part of a compliance team with focus on process improvement, issue management, and regulatory examination readiness.
  • Demonstrated expertise in AML, sanctions, and fraud compliance workflows.
  • Strong cross-functional program management and technical project coordination skills.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements, documentation standards, audit and exam process, and compliance tooling.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex compliance and technical concepts for diverse stakeholders.

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on experience with compliance tooling platforms such as AML monitoring systems, sanctions screening tools, case management solutions, and blockchain technology tools (Chainalysis, Elliptic)
  • Background in regulated cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, or FinTech companies
  • Experience working globally and within a number of regulatory frameworks (e.g., US, EU, Singapore, South America).
  • Basic experience in SQL within modern data warehouse environments (Snowflake, Looker, etc.) and experience with Python for data analysis, automation, and building scalable applications
