POSITION DESCRIPTION

As a Site Reliability Engineer I, you will be part of the global Cloud Centre of Excellence organization responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence of PAR's cloud platforms and SaaS services.

This role combines cloud infrastructure, observability, and automation to support highly available and resilient systems, with growing use of AI-assisted tooling in day-to-day operations. You will work closely with Engineering, Security, and Product teams to improve service reliability, automate operational processes, reduce operational toil, and enhance customer experience.

The ideal candidate has a solid, hands-on foundation in cloud operations and is comfortable owning production issues end-to-end, while continuing to build toward modern SRE practices and Infrastructure as Code.

Position Location: India – Gurugram or Jaipur (Hybrid)

This role supports 24x7 operations across multiple regions. Working days and hours are structured on a rotational basis to provide coverage and the role may also include on-call/after-hours support as needed.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of experience supporting cloud-native applications and infrastructure in AWS and GCP pr Azure environments
  • Experience supporting production applications in a highly available environment (SaaS environment a plus)
  • Hands-on experience with Linux systems administration and exposure to Windows systems administration
  • Experience with at least one observability/monitoring platform such as Datadog, New Relic, Grafana, Prometheus.
  • Experience with scripting/automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, NodeJS, or similar languages
  • Working knowledge of containers and Kubernetes-based platforms
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code concepts and tools such as Terraform
  • Experience with RDS, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other managed cloud database services
  • Working understanding of cloud networking, DNS, load balancing, and application performance troubleshooting
  • Experienced in an incident management processes and root cause analysis methodologies
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to write clear documentation – runbooks, operational procedures, postmortems, and knowledge articles.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect Associate or DevOps Engineer certification
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development or operational tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q Developer, AWS Bedrock, or similar)
  • Exposure to building AI agents or intelligent operational assistants
  • Experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar delivery platforms
  • Familiarity with AIOps, anomaly detection, predictive monitoring, or intelligent alerting concepts
  • Awareness of Platform Engineering concepts and Internal Developer Platforms (IDP)
  • Exposure to highly regulated or large-scale SaaS environments

Unleash your potential: What you will be doing and owning:

  • Monitor and support the reliability, performance, and scalability of PAR's cloud platforms and SaaS services
  • Help build and maintain monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and observability solutions
  • Support tracking of Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and reliability metrics
  • Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, escalation, and service restoration activities
  • Contribute to root cause analysis and blameless postmortems that drive continuous improvement
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts to reduce manual effort and eliminate operational toil, using AI-assisted tools where useful
  • Help identify monitoring and observability gaps through data analysis
  • Assist in creating and maintaining runbooks, operational procedures, and troubleshooting workflows
  • Support Kubernetes platform operations and containerized application deployments
  • Assist with Infrastructure as Code initiatives using Terraform and related tooling
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams to improve application reliability and operational readiness
  • Participate in change management reviews and production readiness assessments
  • Help analyse system trends, performance metrics, and operational data to identify improvements
  • Support capacity planning, performance optimization, and disaster recovery activities
  • Partner with Security teams on vulnerability remediation and operational compliance activities
  • Participate in rotational shift coverage and on-call support for critical production systems
