ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a Berlin-based, remote-first technology company building advanced market intelligence and software solutions for the automotive industry.

With an established product and a strong engineering team, the company is continuously evolving its modern data platform to deliver reliable, high-quality insights to customers across Europe.

This isn't just another ETL maintenance role. You'll work on a large-scale data platform powering millions of vehicle records, building reliable pipelines, improving data quality, and solving complex data integration and standardization challenges.

If you enjoy building production data pipelines, working with modern cloud technologies, and solving real engineering problems in a collaborative product environment, we'd love to hear from you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Build and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines.
  • Develop reliable ETL/ELT workflows using Python, Spark, and modern orchestration tools.
  • Improve data quality, validation, monitoring, and observability across the platform.
  • Develop data models that support analytics and product development.
  • Build ingestion pipelines connecting multiple external and internal data sources.
  • Improve processing performance, scalability, and platform reliability.
  • Work closely with product managers and software engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Use modern AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS

  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Spark/PySpark.
  • Experience building production ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling principles.
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow or similar).
  • Experience working with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • A strong ownership mindset and the ability to work independently.
  • Professional English.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Databricks.
  • Delta Lake or Lakehouse architecture.
  • MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
  • CDC and streaming technologies (Kafka, Debezium, etc.).
  • Data quality frameworks (Great Expectations or similar).
  • Metadata, lineage, or observability tools.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar.

WHY JOIN

  • Work on a modern large-scale data platform powering millions of vehicle records.
  • Solve technically challenging data integration, processing, and quality problems.
  • Join a collaborative engineering team where you'll have real ownership and influence over technical decisions.
  • Work with a modern data stack and engineering best practices.
  • Fully remote position within Europe.
  • Long-term product with meaningful technical challenges and excellent opportunities for professional growth.
