The SAP Basis Administrator provides advanced technical expertise and operational support for SAP Basis services to ensure the stability, security, performance, and availability of SAP environments supporting global business operations.

This role works independently on complex operational issues and collaborates closely with application, infrastructure, cybersecurity, hosting providers, and business teams to maintain and continuously improve both on-premise and cloud-based SAP platforms.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Perform SAP system lifecycle activities including installations, configurations, patching, upgrades, system copies, refreshes, and ongoing maintenance of SAP environments.
  • Monitor SAP landscape performance, availability, and system health, proactively identifying and resolving issues affecting business operations.
  • Troubleshoot complex SAP Basis, infrastructure, connectivity, and performance issues across development, quality assurance, and production environments.
  • Execute performance tuning, root cause analysis, and problem resolution activities to improve system stability and reliability.
  • Manage SAP transports, background jobs, batch processing, and other SAP operational activities in accordance with established procedures and controls.
  • Support SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), integration technologies, and cloud-based SAP solutions to ensure reliable connectivity and system performance.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and vendor teams to support system availability, upgrades, and operational improvements.
  • Coordinate technical activities with hosting providers and third-party support partners to ensure service levels and operational standards are achieved.
  • Participate in disaster recovery testing, backup management, high-availability activities, and business continuity planning.
  • Support internal and external audit activities, including documentation, access reviews, control validation, and evidence collection.
  • Administer and support third-party tools including RevTrac, OpenText, AutoSys, and other SAP-related technologies.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of SAP Basis standards, procedures, operational documentation, and knowledge-sharing materials.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members and offshore support resources as needed.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide support during critical incidents, maintenance windows, and upgrade activities.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration across multiple SAP environments.
  • Strong experience with SAP Basis administration, system monitoring, troubleshooting, upgrades, transports, system refreshes, and performance management.
  • Experience supporting SAP environments hosted by external service providers or cloud platforms.
  • Working knowledge of operating systems, databases, networking concepts, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
  • Experience supporting SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), integrations, or related SAP technologies is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, job failures, connectivity challenges, and infrastructure-related incidents.
  • Experience coordinating activities with external vendors, hosting providers, and global support teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and occasional off-hours support requirements.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:  This position will report to Service Delivery Manager - Basis, Mobile and Technology Integration

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:  Less than 10%

Salary Range:   The expected salary range for this position will be between $91,330 - $114,160.  Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
