Nicola Real Estate, the real estate division of Nicola Wealth, manages over $10 billion (as of December 31, 2025) of commercial real estate in Canada and the United States, on behalf of both private and institutional investors. The team of experienced real estate professionals manage a diverse portfolio of industrial, office, retail, multifamily, seniors housing and self-storage properties, leveraging our institutional calibre investment platform, processes and operations.
The continued growth of Nicola Real Estate has led to the need for an Accounting Manager, Real Estate Finance to join our dynamic and growing team.
Purpose of the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team within the firm by playing a key role within our Real Estate Finance Team. You will be responsible for accounting functions and financial analyses of our limited partnerships with income-producing and development assets in the U.S. and Canadian markets. You will provide insightful support to the Real Estate Finance Management Team and will look for opportunities to improve systems and processes. The Real Estate team has seen tremendous growth in recent years, and a strategic focus on process improvements, scalability, and agility is essential to success in this dynamic role.
This is an on-site role located in our Vancouver Real Estate office.
Core Responsibilities:
• Responsible for completing/reviewing month-end close of property and fund-level financials across Real Estate Limited Partnerships.
• Perform monthly NAV calculations and oversee inputs from development, acquisition, and asset management teams.
• Prepare/review financial reporting for real estate entities, including tax reporting (GST) and property-level financials.
• Support cash management, forecasting, and capital reconciliations, including distribution calculations.
• Assist with internal and external reporting, audits (interim and year-end), and stakeholder deliverables.
• Drive process improvements, including report automation and system enhancements.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams, partners, and property managers, while providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Accounting designation – CPA or equivalent.
• 4-8 years of professional experience in accounting, ideally with audit experience.
• Familiarity with Yardi accounting software is preferred.
• Intermediate or advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail, able to proactively identify and solve problems in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across teams.
• Highly organized and adaptable, with strong time management, professionalism, and a willingness to learn and take ownership.
Compensation & Benefits Package:
This position comes with a competitive base salary hiring range of $ 9 0,000 - $ 115 ,000 , dependent on experience, skills, qualifications and internal equity.
