Position:
We are looking for a Backend & Cloud Infrastructure Intern to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on experience building real backend services and working with modern cloud infrastructure. You’ll contribute directly to live systems, APIs, and integrations, learning how production environments actually work.
This is an extracurricular internship (tirocinio extracurriculare) lasting 6 months, with a monthly reimbursement of €800.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI
Design backend services with attention to performance, scalability, and clean structure
Work with PostgreSQL and Redis for data storage, caching, and session management
Integrate AWS services such as S3 and SES using boto3
Contribute to authentication and authorization flows (OAuth 2.0, JWT)
Support AI-related backend features using Amazon Bedrock APIs
Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure smooth API integration
Work within a CI/CD pipeline and infrastructure managed via Terraform
Debug, test, and improve existing backend services
Requirements:
Good knowledge of Python
Basic understanding of APIs and web development concepts
Familiarity with databases (SQL or NoSQL)
Interest in cloud technologies (AWS is a plus)
Understanding of Git and collaborative development workflows
Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn
Ability to work in English
