About The Position
One of our operating companies, Veracity , is looking for a Finance Officer to join their team in Brisbane.
Join a growing technology business where youwill take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in month-end reporting and continuous improvement. Reporting to an experienced Finance Manager, you will have the opportunity to build your skills while making a genuine impact across the business.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and distribute monthly customer invoices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Liaise with staff and leadership to ensure timesheets are completed and submitted on schedule.
- Perform month-end close activities, including:
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation of manual journals
- Month-end accruals and calculations
- Prepare monthly reporting packs for the parent company, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Manage supplier accounts, including statement reconciliations and monthly payment runs.
- Assist with BAS preparation, including GST and quarterly income tax provisions.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Complete bank, credit card and expense account reconciliations.
- Follow up outstanding customer payments and support accounts receivable activities.
- Liaise with external accountants regarding payroll-related matters and financial queries.
- Support process improvements, internal reporting, and ad hoc finance projects as required.
Skills required
- Minimum 2-5 years' experience in a bookkeeping, finance officer, or assistant accountant role.
- Strong understanding of month-end accounting processes and reconciliations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail with strong organisational abilities.
- Proactive problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently.
- Experience using Xero or similar cloud-based accounting software (desirable).
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with financial
