The Internal Communications Lead is a dynamic position responsible for developing, managing, and executing comprehensive internal communication strategies that foster transparency, alignment, and employee engagement across our organization. This individual will coordinate key internal messages and serve as a central resource to ensure consistent, high-quality communication across all levels and departments of the company with the ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions to problems with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Duties & Responsibilities
Internal Communication Strategy & Governance


• Develop and implement internal communication plans aligned with business objectives and company values.

• Plan, edit, and write content for site events, coordinate and plan internal events.

• Manage weekly updates to HQ utilizing standard templates

• Establish and maintain standards, templates, and best practices for internal communications across the organization.

• Structure and deliver site-wide communication by creating content, providing context, and helping connect the dots across the organization.

• Serve as a communications advisor to cross-functional teams, helping them align their messages to internal communication standards. Review communications drafts, provide edits, recommendations on appropriate audience, timing, etc.

• Partner with Marketing & Strategic Initiatives to ensure alignment with brand strategies.

• Manage site calendar of communications/events; create process for centralized internal communications for site.

Stakeholder Partnership & Content Support


• Partner with site functional teams to understand their communication needs and provide guidance on timing, structure, and delivery.

• Review and revise content created by other departments to ensure alignment with tone, format, and messaging guidelines.

• Provide templates, toolkits, and training to stakeholders to support effective self-service communication efforts.

Content Development & Distribution


• Create, curate, and manage original content for internal channels including emails, newsletters, digital signage, and the internal employee site, My Connect.

• Draft and edit executive messages, organizational announcements, and major initiative updates.

Intranet & Digital Platform Management


• Maintain and enhance the employee site, My Connect, by updating content regularly and ensuring its relevance and accessibility.

• Collaborate with digital teams on improvements, structure, and functionality of communication platforms.

Executive & Leadership Communications


• Support senior leaders with internal communication planning, talking points, and key messages to ensure clear, consistent communication.

• Develop presentations, speaking notes, and materials for site-wide initiatives and leadership updates.

• Coordinate a cadence of senior leader communications with broader teams (i.e. gemba walks, coffee talks, departmental town halls, etc.).

Event & Town Hall Planning


• Coordinate the planning and execution of leadership town halls and other site-wide communication forums (virtual or in-person).

• Develop agendas, run-of-show documents, supporting materials, and post-event communications and/or surveys.

• Project coordination/management.

Education & Experience


• Bachelor’s Degree preferable with concentrated study in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Event Planning or equivalent experience.

• 5+ years of progressive experience in internal or corporate communications.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities


• Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

• Ability to collaborate across departments and influence without direct authority.

• Experience managing digital platforms (e.g., SharePoint, internal newsletters, email tools).

• Strong organizational and project management skills; capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines with the ability to drive execution to completion.

• Familiarity with branding and communication standards in a corporate environment.

• Working knowledge of change management and employee engagement strategies.

Physical Demands


• Prolonged periods of sitting or standing while working at a computer, drafting communications, and participating in meetings (virtual and in-person).

• Frequent use of standard office equipment including computers, monitors, telephones, and audiovisual tools for presentations and content development.

• Regular movement throughout the site to attend meetings, gather information, support events, and engage with cross-functional teams.


Set-up and coordination of materials for meetings, town halls, or events (e.g., presentation materials, signage, or communication collateral).


• Ability to view and edit detailed written content with a high degree of accuracy across digital and printed formats.

• May require occasional lifting or carrying of materials (up to 10–15 lbs.), such as laptops, presentation materials, or event supplies.


Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering manufacturing or controlled areas (e.g., safety glasses, lab coats, shoe covers), as needed.


Work Environment


• Primarily onsite role based at a corporate or campus setting, requiring frequent interaction and visibility across departments.

• Work is largely performed in an office or shared workspace environment with a high level of collaboration and regular engagement with internal stakeholders.

• Frequent interaction with cross-functional teams including leadership, operations, HR, and other business units to develop and deliver communications.

• Occasional presence in manufacturing, laboratory, or operational areas to gather content, support site communications, or attend events, requiring adherence to safety and gowning procedures.

• Regular coordination with geographically dispersed teams or global partners, which may require flexibility to support multiple time zones.

• Fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, requiring adaptability, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.


Support for company-wide events (e.g., town halls, leadership sessions), which may require extended hours, early mornings, or late evenings.
