About this role
Ensures the products that ship to customers meet a high quality standard. Owns the QA Engineer agent — the AI that writes test cases, executes tests, creates unit tests, performs regression testing, and validates that implementations meet acceptance criteria. Defines the quality gate standards that determine whether a release is ready. Does not test manually — the QA Engineer agent does that.

Define and enforce quality standards across all products
•
Define the automated quality gate criteria for releases
•
Establish test coverage requirements and testing strategy
•

•
Define testing templates, coverage requirements, and defect classification standards
•
Improve agent skills to reduce false positives and increase defect detection rates
Quality Governance
•
Resolve quality disputes and edge cases that the QA agent cannot handle
•
Collaborate with Product Engineers when quality issues require product decisions
•
Track quality metrics: defect escape rate, test coverage, regression pass rates
•
Collaborate with Software Architect on code quality vs. test quality intersection
Skills and Qualifications
This role requires a blend of hands-on QA expertise (from the QA Engineer track), automation leadership (from the QA Automation Lead track), and AI-native operational skills. The table below consolidates requirements across all three dimensions.
