Senior Accountant

• Perform monthly account reconciliations and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting • Prepare and file state and local tax filings, including sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, and other indirect taxes across multiple jurisdictions (currently 28 states) • Conduct technical accounting and tax research to ensure compliance with evolving state regulations and government requirements • Draft, review, and update accounting policies and procedures to ensure alignment with GAAP and applicable government regulations • Develop a strong understanding of adjacent finance functions (e.g., Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Customer Cost Proposals) to: • Recommend process improvements and efficiencies • Provide backup support during peak periods, absences, or business needs • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent application of financial controls and policies • Translate regulatory and technical requirements into clear, actionable internal processes
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA-track preferred) • Strong foundation in GAAP and general accounting principles • Experience with multi-state tax compliance (sales/use tax, gross receipts, etc.) • Demonstrated ability to independently research complex accounting or tax issues and implement solutions • Experience developing or improving policies and procedures in a regulated environment • High level of attention to detail, organization, and accountability • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical guidance into practical application • Due to contractual requirements, only candidates who are U.S. persons (citizens, permanent residents, asylees, or refugees) will be considered for this position
