Location:  Jacksonville, FL

Reports To: VP, Finance and Strategy

Salary Range:  $200,000-$230,000

Position Summary:

IEM is seeking a highly analytical, hands-on Director of Finance & Strategy to serve as a key partner to the VP of Finance & Strategy. This role will support critical financial, operational, and commercial decisions across a fast-growing manufacturing business.

The ideal candidate combines strong Excel and financial-modeling skills with a practical understanding of how a P&L operates. They can take ambiguous questions, work through imperfect data, develop an analytical answer from first principles, and clearly communicate the resulting implications to senior leaders. This person must be highly curious, accountable, and comfortable working cross-functionally with operations, commercial, supply chain, accounting, and other functional leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning, Analysis & Modeling

  • Build and maintain detailed financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, reforecasting, long-range planning, and ad hoc decision-making.
  • Analyze historical and projected financial performance, identifying key drivers of revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, working capital, and EBITDA.
  • Develop scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate risks, opportunities, trade-offs, and key business decisions.
  • Support monthly reporting, leadership reviews, and board-level materials with clear, accurate, and well-supported analysis.

Operational & Commercial Analytics

  • Partner with operations and commercial leaders to evaluate performance, capacity, productivity, backlog, pricing, labor, material costs, and other key business drivers.
  • Analyze large and complex data sets, often where source data is incomplete, inconsistent, or evolving, and build practical analytical frameworks to answer business questions.
  • Help improve data integrity and establish repeatable reporting and analytical processes across the organization.
  • Translate operating metrics into financial implications and identify actionable opportunities to improve performance.

Strategic & Cross-Functional Support

  • Own end-to-end analyses from problem definition through executive-level recommendation, with limited direction.
  • Prepare concise, executive-ready materials that clearly communicate the analysis, key takeaways, risks, and recommended actions.
  • Build strong working relationships across finance, accounting, operations, supply chain, commercial, and senior leadership.
  • Coordinate workstreams across functions, driving timely follow-up and accountability where needed.

M&A & Strategic Transactions (Selective Exposure)

  • Support evaluation of potential M&A opportunities through financial modeling, data analysis, and diligence support as needed

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in corporate finance, FP&A, investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, consulting, or a similarly rigorous analytical environment.
  • Strong understanding of the three financial statements and how operational decisions flow through revenue, margin, EBITDA, cash flow, and working capital.
  • Advanced Excel and financial-modeling skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, scenario analysis, and the ability to build models and analyses from scratch.
  • Ability to independently work through large, complex data sets and ambiguous business questions.
  • Strong business judgment and intellectual curiosity; willing to dig into the details to understand what is driving performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex analysis into a clear message for senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work with urgency, and maintain a high degree of accuracy.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrials, or other operationally complex businesses is preferred, but not required.
