Position Overview

The Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records by performing scheduled cycle counts, investigating inventory discrepancies, and supporting inventory control processes. This role partners with the warehouse, shipping, receiving, and production teams to ensure inventory accuracy, minimize variances, and support efficient production and customer shipments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Schedule:

First Shift: Tuesday to Friday 7:00am to 5pm (Overtime may be required some Fridays and Saturdays as needed)

What you'll do

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts according to established schedules.
  • Verify physical inventory against system inventory records.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and determine root causes.
  • Process inventory adjustments following company procedures.
  • Research inventory transactions including receipts, shipments, production consumption, and transfers.
  • Assist with annual physical inventories.
  • Audit inventory locations for proper storage and labeling.
  • Work with Receiving, Shipping, Production to resolve inventory issues.
  • Ensure inventory transactions are completed accurately and on time.
  • Follow FIFO inventory practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Comply with all company safety policies.
  • All other duties as assigned

Who you are

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, material handling, or cycle counting preferred.
  • Experience using ERP systems (SAP preferred) for inventory tracking and transactions.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and computer systems.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills to investigate inventory discrepancies.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and complete assigned cycle counts on schedule.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with Warehouse, Shipping, Receiving, and Production teams.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and climb ladders for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely operate warehouse equipment if certified.
