As a growth area council, Hume is at the forefront of managing significant population growth, supporting the delivery of new communities, employment opportunities, transport connections and social infrastructure. Our work helps create places where people can live, work, learn and thrive now and into the future.

Guided by our values of We're Better, Every Day; We're In It Together; We Show Up; and All for Hume, we foster a collaborative and inclusive workplace where people are empowered to make a meaningful contribution to the future of our city and community.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Reporting to the Principal Project Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating project activities, stakeholder engagement, workshops, meetings and project reporting across a complex partnership environment. You will support consultant management, undertake research and analysis, prepare reports and governance documentation, and help ensure project outcomes are delivered on schedule and aligned with project objectives.
  • The role requires someone who is highly organised, proactive and comfortable working across multiple priorities. You will build productive relationships with councils, government agencies, community organisations, industry partners and consultants, helping bring diverse stakeholders together to support project delivery and informed decision making.
  • We're looking for a project professional with strong coordination, stakeholder engagement and communication skills who enjoys working in a collaborative environment. Experience in project management, strategic planning, urban development, infrastructure, community development or a related field will be highly regarded. This is an opportunity to contribute to a project that will help guide the future development of a major growth area and support the long term delivery of jobs, services, infrastructure and investment in Melbourne's north.

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:

  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of reports, briefings, presentations and stakeholder communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and contribute effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.

Required Certifications & Qualifications:
