Fractional Senior Marketing Director

Anticipated Contract Length: 6 months

Work set up: Remote (Occasional on-site meetings as required)

Our client in the global professional services industry is looking for a Fractional Senior Marketing Director to provide strategic marketing leadership on a part-time, independent contractor basis. This role will lead the marketing function by translating business objectives into effective marketing strategies and execution while supporting the organization's transformation following multiple acquisitions. The successful candidate will strengthen brand positioning, improve demand generation, align marketing and sales, and establish scalable marketing frameworks that drive sustainable business growth across the Australian market.

This engagement is expected to support up to 15 hours per week (maximum 60 hours per month) and requires an experienced independent contractor who is comfortable operating autonomously while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a strategic marketing plan aligned with business objectives.
• Lead integrated marketing campaigns and demand generation initiatives.
• Translate business goals into measurable marketing strategies and execution plans.
• Strengthen brand positioning and develop a clear market narrative.
• Improve brand awareness and credibility across target industries.
• Align marketing and sales teams to improve commercial effectiveness and messaging consistency.
• Manage marketing resources and external agency partners.
• Oversee marketing budgets, campaign performance, and return on investment.
• Coordinate cross-functional marketing initiatives across business functions.
• Optimize marketing operations, processes, and campaign delivery.
• Establish scalable marketing frameworks and governance.
• Improve lead generation performance across paid, organic, and SEO channels.
• Support internal communications and leadership visibility initiatives.
• Evaluate marketing performance and recommend continuous improvements.
• Collaborate with executive stakeholders to develop long-term marketing roadmaps.

• 10–15 years of experience in executive marketing leadership or a comparable senior marketing role.
• Proven experience leading strategic marketing functions within technology, SaaS, professional services, or related industries.
• Strong background in brand strategy, positioning, and integrated marketing.
• Demonstrated success developing and executing demand generation and lead generation strategies.
• Experience aligning marketing and sales functions to improve commercial outcomes.
• Experience managing marketing teams, agencies, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of marketing operations, governance, budgeting, and performance management.
• Experience overseeing marketing transformation, organizational change, or post-acquisition integration initiatives is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of SEO, digital marketing, paid media, and organic growth strategies.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and executive presentation skills.
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution in a fractional capacity.
• Experience working independently as an Independent Contractor is preferred.
• Strong understanding of the Australian market, including local business practices and stakeholder engagement, is highly desirable.
• Ability to provide a reliable remote working environment and use a personal laptop with secure remote system access.
