Fractional Creative Strategist

Anticipated Contract End Date/Length:  6 months with potential to extend

Work Set-Up:  Remote -  located in South Africa only

Our client in the global professional services industry is looking for a Fractional Creative Strategist to provide strategic thinking, planning, and development across creative briefs and projects. The role will support the team as it expands its work with other parts of the business and external clients, where briefs increasingly require more upfront strategy before creative execution. This is a fractional, project-based opportunity suited to a mid-to-senior strategist who can work flexibly across part-time or full-time project requirements.

What you will do:

• Develop strategic thinking and planning for creative briefs and projects.
• Provide upfront insight and strategic development before creative execution.
• Support pre-sell and pitch processes with strategic thinking and client insight.
• Translate client and business requirements into clear strategic direction.
• Develop strategic approaches for external client work and more complex briefs.
• Partner with creative teams to connect strategy with creative execution.
• Support projects requiring additional strategic capability beyond the existing team.
• Adapt strategic support according to the size, complexity, and requirements of each brief.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external clients to understand business needs and context.
• Provide strategic guidance across project-based engagements as required.
• Contribute to building a stronger strategy capability as the external side of the business grows.

• Bring mid-to-senior experience in Creative Strategy, with the ability to operate at different levels depending on the project.
• Strong brand/creative strategy with B2B, corporate, technology, industrial or other complex-category experience.
• Strategic minded that can adapt quickly, develop insights and strategic narratives.
• Can define propositions and turn complex briefs into clear creative direction.
• Agency or collaborative creative-team experience preferred.
• Demonstrate strong strategic thinking, planning, and development skills across creative briefs.
• Possess experience contributing strategy to pre-sell or pitch processes, particularly for external clients.
• Show the ability to provide insight and strategic thinking before creative execution begins.
• Demonstrate flexibility to support intensive project-based engagements, including approximately three-month projects.
• Bring strong collaboration and communication skills when working with creative teams, stakeholders, and clients.
• Adapt strategic depth and approach to major, complex, or smaller briefs.
• Show the ability to work either part-time or full-time hours depending on project requirements.
• Bring a commercially minded approach to developing strategic capability as recurring external work grows.
