ABOUT THE JOB

F l e is h m an H i l l a r d   EU  is looking for a Graduate Intern to join  the Reputation and Policy Communications practice  and gain professional experience in EU public affairs.

FleishmanHillard in Brussels is Europe’s leading EU public affairs and communications consultancy. We have an excellent track record of advising blue-chip clients as they navigate regulatory, political and policy issues of substantial commercial and societal significance. Our approach hinges on close partnership, offering deep expertise and applying insight as well as creativity to our clients’ issues.

Our Brussels Reputation and Policy Communications Team works closely with our clients to guide and advise them on the implications of EU public policy for their organisztions and, therefore, the communication strategies they should activate to enhance their positioning.  As part of a wider team, we collaborate with colleagues across the office on their specific areas of expertise, including energy, healthcare, financial services, and technology, and we work with colleagues in other FleishmanHillard offices across Europe, the Middle East and Africa region, as well as with key offices around the world.

What you will do

  • Conduct desk research around key EU issues and policies, as well as companies and organisations, to inform communication strategies
  • Engage on digital and social media and with traditional media
  • Draft content, shape and disseminate campaign messages and leverage different communications channels targeting EU policymakers and stakeholders
  • Evaluate communications campaigns’ results based on KPIs

Who you are

  • You have excellent oral and written communication in English; fluency in one or more other languages is a plus
  • You have a good storytelling approach
  • You have experience or interest and knowledge in copywriting, proofreading and editing
  • You have a good grasp of social and traditional media channels (international, EU and/or local)
  • You have a good understanding of EU policymaking
  • You build and maintain trusting relationships
  • You manage multiple issues and deadlines
  • You have an entrepreneurial and creative approach to problem-solving
  • You are committed to the highest standards of service delivery
  • You are dynamic, curious, supportive, collaborative and a proactive team player
  • Ideally, you have initial working experience relating to communications and/or media relations. This experience should ideally be acquired working with the EU institutions, EU trade associations, in-house or through a communications consultancy.
