Are you passionate about software development and interested in supporting Open Data and Open Science in research? Join our team that is building services for open data and reproducible computational data analyses!

Your responsibilities

As a full-stack developer in our team, you will:

  • Participate in the development of the REANA reproducible analysis platform allowing to run containerised declarative analysis workflows.
  • Participate in the development of the LHCb Ntupling service allowing researchers to request custom open data from the LHCb experiment.
  • Collaborate closely with LHC experimental physics teams working on open data and reproducible research.
  • Collaborate with external institutes and partners working on open data, open science and reproducible analysis infrastructures.

Your profile

  • Experience in full-stack software development and with frontend and backend software engineering technologies.
  • Experience with container technologies and application deployment, monitoring and security.
  • Some familiarity with basic principles of computational research data analyses would be a plus.

Skills

  • Frontend technologies: React.
  • Backend technologies: Python, Go.
  • Deployment: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.
  • Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French.

Eligibility criteria:

  • You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State .
  • By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Computer Science or equivalent (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree .
  • You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
  • Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
  • Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.

Job closing date: 25.10.2026 at 23:59 CET.

Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.

Working hours: 40 hours per week

Job flexibility: Hybrid

Target start date: 01-December-2026

  • Stand-by duty, when required by the needs of the Organization.
  • Work during nights, Sundays and official holidays, when required by the needs of the Organization.
