Ready to lead a high‑performing engineering team ensuring critical components for major nuclear projects are delivered to the highest standards? Keen to combine leadership, technical expertise, and international exposure while shaping supplier quality across the UK and Europe? At EDF, Success is Personal – and your impact on safety, quality, and performance will define the role you build.

The Opportunity

As Group Lead – High‑Volumes Manufacturing Surveillance, you’ll play a key leadership role in ensuring that large volumes of equipment supporting nuclear construction are manufactured safely, compliantly, and to the required standards. Your work will directly support delivery across major programmes, helping manage risk in supply chains and contributing to reliable, low‑carbon energy generation as EDF drives the transition towards An Electric Britain.

EDF EPR Engineering UK delivers the design for nuclear island buildings, systems, and equipment for Hinkley Point C and similar projects. Working as part of an integrated team, EPR Engineering supports construction and commissioning while preparing design‑replication feasibility and related engineering activities.

You’ll join us on a salary between £72,000 and £78,000 per annum. This role is based at #AztecWest in #Bristol, with frequent travel to supplier sites across the UK and Europe, giving you direct exposure to manufacturing environments and key project stakeholders.

Leading the High‑Volumes Manufacturing Surveillance team, you’ll shape how bulk manufacturing quality is managed at scale, balancing delivery, safety, and performance. You’ll influence strategy, optimise team capability, and ensure efficient oversight of suppliers, while developing your leadership profile within a business delivering some of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects.

Who You Are

We’re looking for a Group Lead – Manufacturing Surveillance with strong leadership capability, a structured mindset, and deep understanding of regulated engineering environments. You’ll be confident managing teams, suppliers, and performance in complex delivery settings. To be shortlisted, you need to offer:

  • An engineering degree (or equivalent qualification)
  • Significant experience in the nuclear sector, including UK project exposure
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams in engineering, manufacturing, or quality environments
  • Strong background in manufacturing, supply chain, or inspection/surveillance activities
  • Experience managing projects, contracts (e.g. NEC/FIDIC), and budgets
  • Ability to oversee performance delivery against time, cost, and quality requirements
  • Fluency in English and French (minimum B2 level in both)

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building, leading and developing a team responsible for manufacturing surveillance across high‑volume equipment
  • Ensuring supplier manufacturing activities meet required safety, quality, and compliance standards
  • Managing team performance, workload planning, and resource allocation
  • Driving timely delivery of outputs aligned to cost, schedule, and quality expectations
  • Building relationships with internal stakeholders and supplier networks across the UK and Europe

Pay, Benefits and Culture

Alongside a starting salary between £72,000 and £78,000 per annum, potential for an annual bonus, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.
