A Pala Lead supervises the production of Roman-style Pizza alla Pala, Focaccia, and other Bakery items in a single Eataly location’s baking facility. Reports to the Head Chef and Sous Chef Managers.
- Supervises and directs the bakery/pizza production staff at the direction of the Head Chef.
- Assists the Head Chef and Sous Chef Managers with leading, training and developing team members
- Prepares pizza, focaccia, and other bakery items according to specific recipes
- Manage the stock of raw materials, place orders, and take care of the inventory of the department.
- Complies with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies and procedures
- Maintains a clean and sanitary food production area according to Department of Health standards
- Works towards mastering all shifts in pizza and bakery production
- Assists Sales Associates if needed and engages with guests interested in learning about pizza, focaccia, and other bakery products
- Ensures a clean and sanitary food production area
- Performs cashier duties including processing returns, voids and exchanges when necessary
- Documents, investigates, elevates and resolves employee and guest incidents
- Performs other duties as required or assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year of experience in a back of house production position
- 1+ year of supervisory experience
- Good work ethic, communication and time management skills
Job Requirements
- Availability to work onsite with a flexible, open schedule often including evenings and weekends, as well as occasional early-morning/overnight shifts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to exert well-paced mobility for at least 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
- Ability to work with an electric pizza convection oven and commercial spiral mix
Compensation: The base pay for this position is $22 - $27 per hour
