  • Coordinate with Headquarters Air Force and Major Command staffs to develop and maintain a planning calendar for treaty-compliance exercises and training events.
  • Plan, organize, instruct, and facilitate tabletop and field exercises.
  • Develop draft lesson plans, exercise scripts, scenarios, injects, presentations, and supporting training materials.
  • Coordinate exercise requirements, schedules, participants, facilities, and supporting resources.
  • Provide technical, procedural, and operational expertise related to arms control treaty implementation and inspection readiness.
  • Conduct hot-wash evaluations immediately following exercise and training events.
  • Develop post-event evaluation reports, after-action reports, lessons learned, and recommended corrective actions.
  • Prepare and maintain Headquarters Air Force inspection-support documentation.
  • Assist Department of the Air Force organizations in preparing for treaty implementation exercises and real-world on-site inspections.
  • Provide direct support to Department of the Air Force staff during actual treaty inspections.
  • Brief government leadership on exercise results, inspection readiness, identified risks, and recommended improvements.
  • Maintain readiness to deploy in support of a real-world treaty inspection within 48 hours of notification.
  • Perform other arms control exercise, training, and inspection-support duties as assigned.
  • More than 10 years of relevant experience in military operations, arms control, treaty compliance, exercise planning, inspection readiness, training, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing military tabletop, command-post, field, or inspection-readiness exercises.
  • Experience developing lesson plans, exercise scripts, scenarios, training materials, and post-event assessments.
  • Experience instructing or facilitating military training and exercise events.
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense and Department of the Air Force staff processes and organizational structures.
  • Ability to analyze complex policies, procedures, and operational requirements and translate them into executable training and exercise products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver briefings to senior military and civilian leaders.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with government, military, civilian, and contractor personnel.
  • Ability to manage multiple requirements and respond to short-notice taskings.
  • Ability to work on site in the National Capital Region.
  • Ability to travel and deploy within 48 hours of notification when required.
  • Security Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information, Special Access Program, and Special Access Required programs is required.
  • Direct experience supporting Department of the Air Force arms control or international treaty programs.
  • Previous experience as a Treaty Compliance Officer.
  • Experience supporting Headquarters Air Force, a Major Command, Air Force Global Strike Command, Air Force Materiel Command, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, or the Joint Staff.
  • Knowledge of arms control treaty implementation, compliance, verification, and inspection requirements.
  • Familiarity with treaties and agreements affecting Department of the Air Force operations, including New START, the Chemical Weapons Convention, and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
  • Experience supporting real-world treaty inspections.
  • Experience developing or delivering Treaty Compliance Officer training.
  • Familiarity with the Arms Control Enterprise System.
  • Completion of a Department of Defense instructor course, Air Force instructor course, or equivalent military or civilian training.
  • Experience preparing executive-level after-action reports, point papers, decision papers, or briefing materials.
