Reporting to the Dragline Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe, professional and diligent approach and operation of our 8050 and 8750 Draglines. Applicants will possess appropriate mining operating experience including dragline, dozer, grader and cable reeler skills. You will display excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with an open mind and willingness to try new ways of operating.

To be successful in this role you will ensure compliance with all Anglo American safety and operating systems and a commitment to working together as part of a team to achieve business objectives. You will display excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with being a team player in safely achieving targets. You will be able to demonstrate your knowledge in dragline set up, operations and dig patterns to achieve machine optimization and improve performance.

  • You will possess at least 12 months competent dragline experience and be a proficient dozer operator.
  • You will be required to provide proof of your operating experience.

In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in manganese, as well as copper exploration projects under way in North West Queensland. Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world.
