Location: Laguna Niguel or Sacramento, CA (In-person)

T asks & Responsibilities :

  • As a member of our Consulting team , you will c oordinate with clients on specific project components , discuss business strategies , and provide your expertise to improve financial or operational performance .
  • Mentor Analysts and play a crucial role in driving projects forward .
  • Engage in consulting projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Assist our clients to solve their operational, financial , and strategic challenges and improve their business performance .
  • Take respons ibility for your own project modules .
  • Consult and present project results to senior management .
  • Leverage the technical knowledge and expertise of D eutsche Bahn in consulting projects .
  • Support the development of client relationships and identify opportunities for future engagements.
  • Develop asset management, maintenance, and infrastructure strategies that improve long-term performance, reliability, and lifecycle value for transportation agencies.
  • Translate technical, operational, financial, and organizational challenges into practical implementation roadmaps and decision-making frameworks.
  • Lead complex analyses that support investment planning, maintenance optimization, organizational transformation, and state-of-good-repair initiatives.
  • Facilitate alignment across executives, operations teams, maintainers, infrastructure owners, and delivery partners to build consensus on strategic priorities and implementation approaches.
  • Advise clients on maintenance operating models, governance structures, performance management frameworks, and asset lifecycle management best practices.
  • Drive business development and practice growth through strategic planning, market assessment, solution proposition, and proposal development within the transportation and infrastructure sectors.

R equirements:

  • One or more years of experience in consulting and familiarity with the consulting approach.
  • MBA, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in any discipline, having demonstrated academic excellence and the capacity to passionately engage with and excel in specific industries or topics.
  • Outstanding analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills and an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset; ability to work independently; aptitude to quickly grasp new concepts and effectively produce results.
  • Passion for tackling complex challenges in mobility and railway transportation sector.
  • Strong written and verbal presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience in using MS-Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for performing analyses and developing quantitative models.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with strong interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions and Travel :

Minimal overnight travel by land and air.

Physical Requirements, with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to work at a computer workstation for periods up to 4 hours at a time
  • Ability to speak on the telephone for a total of up to 3 hours per day
  • Ability to sit for up to 3 hours without breaks at meetings
  • Ability to walk and stand for up to 4 hours without breaks at program site visits and meetings

We offer an annual gross salary between  $98,000 and $113,000 + bonus   (USD) for full-time employment, depending on professional qualifications and experience.
