Specializing in advanced energy management and battery control systems, Critical Loop empowers businesses and communities to seamlessly unite distributed energy resources for faster, more reliable, and affordable grid access. With deep expertise in grid modernization and a passion for creating resilient, responsive energy solutions, Critical Loop drives innovation at the intersection of technology and energy.

THE ROLE

We are hiring a Technical Program Manager. This is not a coordination role or single-project ownership position. You will own the execution of multiple concurrent deployments and programs spanning battery energy storage systems, energy management software, hardware integrations, manufacturing, and customer projects running simultaneously at different stages.

You will be the person who sees around corners, surfaces blockers before they become problems, and holds the line on timelines without needing to be asked. You will work directly with engineering, field ops, and leadership.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Own multiple concurrent BESS and utility scale projects at different lifecycle stages simultaneously

- Maintain detailed program plans across all active projects including scope, schedule, budget tracking, risk registers, and milestone accountability

- Coordinate across internal engineering, procurement, production, field ops, and logistics to sequence work correctly and surface interdependencies before they create delays

- Own risk identification and mitigation across all active programs: track open issues, drive resolution, solve risk interdependencies and keep leadership informed without waiting to be asked

- Manage external partners, subcontractors, and equipment vendors to contractual milestones, hold them accountable, and escalate when needed

- Build and maintain the program infrastructure Critical Loop: source of truth process, tracking systems, reporting, success metrics (define & measure), milestone review cadences, and escalation paths

- Translate complex technical and schedule realities into clear, accurate communication for customers, utility stakeholders, and internal leadership

- Identify patterns across projects and feed learnings back into how the team scopes and plans future programs

MUST-HAVES

- Has owned multiple complex, customer-facing projects/ programs simultaneously from kickoff through delivery on timelines and can operate in ambiguity on compressed or accelerated deployment timelines .

- Understands how to sequence work across engineering, procurement, operations, and external vendors.

- Has owned customer and external partner relationships directly, including difficult conversations, running status meetings, and managing deliverable schedules.

- Can hold a detailed program schedule with real dependency logic, not just a list of milestones, and knows how to recover when the schedule slips

- Has managed external vendors, subcontractors, and equipment suppliers to contractual commitments and knows how to apply pressure without burning relationships

- Comfortable operating in a hardware and field deployment context: understands commissioning sequences, site logistics, and what it actually takes to get a system energized

- Can build a program structure from nothing and does not wait for process, tools, or a PMO to exist before creating them

- Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time

NICE-TO-HAVES

- Background in commercial energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, or

- Experience managing programs that span both hardware development and field execution

- Familiarity with supply chain constraints in a physical product company

- Direct experience with utility interconnection processes, permission to operate timelines, or NTP-to-energization workflows

- Background managing BESS projects at both utility scale (10MW and above) and C&I scale (100kW to 10MW)

- Familiarity with EPC contract structures, change order management, and project finance milestones

- Experience building or formalizing a program management function at a hardware or energy company

- PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent

- Has worked in a startup environment without an implemented PM software or procedures and understands what it means to own outcomes without organizational support
