The Boston Red Sox International Scouting Department is committed to identifying and acquiring impact amateur talent globally and integrating them into our player development system. POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role is designed to build a strong foundation throughout baseball operations, combining curriculum and project-based education, day-to-day project and task execution, and exposure to decision-making processes at the highest level of the game. Prior baseball experience is not mandatory for success in this role. The Associate will primarily support the International Scouting department with exposure to the Acquisitions domain through the following functions:
Power-using decision-making and valuation materials for player analysis and evaluation.

Assist across all areas of the International Scouting operation with a focus on advancements in workflow, tools, evaluative methods, and decision-making.

Assist department leadership in player check-listing processes and comprehensive analysis for potential acquisitions.

Explore Baseball Operations domains to identify and drive research opportunities that will enhance international player evaluation and acquisition .

Assist with departmental tasks including, but not limited to:

Maintaining and enhancing departmental information and communication platforms.

Collaborat ing cross-departmentally to manage collection and quality control of video and data streams.

Work ing closely with remote Spanish speaking staff to help coordinate and manage data collection initiatives and troubleshoot issues.

Develop core domain competencies across Baseball Operations through hands-on experience, education, and mentorship.

Analytical Thinking: Develop a strong knowledge of modern baseball metrics, development practices, and evaluation skills.

Communication & Teamwork: Work effectively across groups, presenting information clearly to varied constituents and collaborating in a fast-paced environment.

Task Prioritization & Execution: Proactively manage multiple tasks under pressure with high attention to detail, balancing project urgency and impact.

Innovation & Adaptability: Develop proficiency with cutting-edge technology within and outside of baseball, while contributing ideas for process improvement and optimization.

Growth Mindset: Show humility, curiosity, and commitment to continuous personal and professional development.

Must be fully bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish.

Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to multitask in stressful situations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Experience with SQL/R/Python is a plus, but not required.

Prior baseball or sport experience is not required or necessary for success in this role.
