Job's mission

Join ASM’s Electronics Category Management team and contribute to strategic projects that help drive data-informed sourcing decisions. In this internship, you will analyze supplier pricing requests, evaluate market trends, and identify opportunities to optimize the supplier base. Your work will provide valuable insights that support cost management, supplier strategy, and operational efficiency across the business.

What you will be working on

  • Analyze supplier price increase requests and assess whether they align with market conditions and cost drivers.
  • Collect, consolidate, and evaluate supplier pricing data and supporting documentation.
  • Develop analytical models using historical pricing data, internal benchmarks, category targets, and should-cost methodologies.
  • Research commodity market trends, including metals, plastics, semiconductors, logistics, energy, and other factors influencing supplier costs.
  • Compare supplier cost justifications with external market indicators and industry data.
  • Identify pricing discrepancies and develop data-driven recommendations to support supplier negotiations.
  • Create reports and presentations that communicate findings and recommendations to category managers.
  • Maintain structured records of supplier price increase analyses and outcomes.
  • Conduct spend analysis to identify tail-spend suppliers and consolidation opportunities.
  • Support supplier segmentation based on cost, quality, delivery performance, and capabilities.
  • Develop business cases and recommendations to simplify the supplier base and improve efficiency.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Planning, Quality, and Engineering.
  • Participate in supplier meetings and negotiation preparation activities.
  • Contribute ideas for process improvements, reporting enhancements, and analytical tools.

What we are looking for


Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

  • Penultimate or final-year undergraduate student
  • Interest in procurement, category management, supplier strategy, or supply chain operations.


Strong analytical and numerical reasoning skills.


Ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.


Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis techniques.


Strong research, problem-solving, and organizational skills.


Effective written and verbal communication skills.


Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

What sets you apart

  • Knowledge of commodity markets, cost analysis, or supplier management concepts.
  • Experience using data visualization or analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar platforms.
  • Curiosity about market dynamics and a proactive approach to learning.
