At Asana, we're building AI-powered work management software to help every organization in the world become more effective in working together and realizing their goals. Hundreds of thousands of global teams rely on Asana to orchestrate their work — from everyday tasks to the most strategic company initiatives.

As Asana evolves into a platform where humans and AI agents work together, customers need products that are both more connected and more trustworthy. They need clear ways to extend Asana through APIs, integrations, and developer tools, along with clear controls for who can access information, what people and agents are allowed to do, and how that access is governed across teams, tools, and workflows.

We’re looking for a Product Director, Platform & Ecosystem to lead two closely connected areas at Asana: Ecosystem and Sharing & Permissions. In this role, you’ll define the strategy for the APIs, developer platform, integration rails, and strategic integrations that extend Asana beyond our own UI, as well as the access controls, roles, delegation, and governance capabilities that make collaboration secure and enterprise-ready. You’ll help make Asana more open and extensible without compromising trust, governance, security, or clarity.

This role is based in our Vancouver office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. If you're interviewing for this role, your recruiter will share more about the in-office requirements.

What you’ll achieve

  • Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for platform capabilities that make Asana more extensible and enterprise-ready, from APIs and integration rails to permissions, roles, and governance.
  • Lead teams building the developer platform, integration foundations, and strategic integrations that help customers, partners, and internal teams connect Asana to the rest of their stack.
  • Shape how humans, applications, and AI agents securely access information and take action across core work objects and collaboration surfaces.
  • Partner closely with teams responsible for admin experiences, enterprise governance, security, and platform foundations to deliver systems that are powerful, understandable, and safe by default.
  • Balance long-term platform architecture with near-term product delivery, migrations, customer needs, and execution across a broad surface area.
  • Directly manage ~4-5 direct reports and oversee the strategy and execution of five R&D teams.

About you

  • You have proven experience in product management (10+ years), including one or more of the following areas: platform, APIs, developer products, integrations, enterprise B2B, security, governance, or other systems-heavy domains.
  • You are comfortable operating in complex enterprise environments with security, compliance, governance, and interoperability requirements.
  • You are a strong cross-functional leader who can align engineering, design, research, data science, GTM, and executive stakeholders around hard tradeoffs.
  • You are a clear, rigorous communicator who can simplify complex concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You are curious about AI tools and excited by the product implications of more agentic ways of working.

What we’ll offer

Our comprehensive compensation package plays a big part in how we recognize you for the impact you have on our path to achieving our mission. We believe that compensation should be reflective of the value you create relative to the market value of your role. To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit.

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $289,000 - $340,000 CAD. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.

In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits. If you're interviewing for this role, speak with your recruiter to learn more about the total compensation and benefits for this role.

We strive to provide equitable and competitive benefits packages that support our employees worldwide and include:

  • Mental health, wellness & fitness benefits
  • Career coaching & support
  • Inclusive family building benefits
  • Long-term savings or retirement plans
  • In-office culinary options to cater to your dietary preferences
