About this role
TXSE is building the next-generation exchange infrastructure to support transparent, efficient, and resilient capital markets. With SEC approval and $270MM in funding, we are currently hiring a Senior Systems Architect to help with a greenfield infrastructure build out.
• Platform Architecture & Engineering: Design, implement, and evolve highly available infrastructure platforms that support mission-critical trading, market data, and financial services workloads across on-premises and cloud environments. • OpenShift & Kubernetes: Architect, deploy, and maintain resilient Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms for low-latency, high-throughput production environments. • Linux Engineering: Provide senior-level engineering leadership for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, including kernel tuning, performance optimization, patching strategy, lifecycle management, and operational standards. • Market-Critical Infrastructure Services: Engineer and support core infrastructure services essential to distributed financial systems, including LDAP, Kerberos, SSSD, DNS, BIND, PowerDNS, NTP, Chrony, and PTP, with a focus on precision, availability, and operational integrity. • Cloud & Hybrid Architecture: Design and operate secure AWS and Azure solutions, including hybrid and multi-cloud architectures that satisfy financial industry requirements for resilience, auditability, security, and business continuity. • Enterprise Hardware & Storage: Lead the design, support, and optimization of infrastructure running on Dell PowerEdge servers and enterprise storage platforms, with emphasis on performance, replication, capacity planning, and fault tolerance. • Automation & Platform Reliability: Develop and standardize infrastructure automation using Ansible, Jenkins, ArgoCD, GitOps, Terraform, Pulumi, and scripting frameworks to improve repeatability, speed, and operational consistency. • Developer & Release Platform Integration: Manage GitHub Enterprise and related integrations, including SonarQube, Artifactory, and GitHub Actions runners, to enable secure and scalable software delivery workflows. • Operational Resilience & Compliance: Ensure platforms are designed and operated to meet the security, availability, resiliency, and regulatory expectations of financial services and capital markets environments. • Architecture Leadership: Establish design standards, reference architectures, and reusable engineering patterns that can be deployed consistently across multiple business and technology domains. • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with trading, application development, production support, cybersecurity, network engineering, and infrastructure teams to deliver stable, performant, and scalable solutions aligned with front-office and enterprise priorities.
• 10+ years of experience in Linux infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, or platform architecture roles. • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and supporting Red Hat OpenShift and/or Kubernetes in production. • Strong experience supporting infrastructure in New York financial markets, including trading environments, market data platforms, exchange connectivity, or other latency- sensitive capital markets systems. • Deep understanding of the operational demands of financial services environments, including high availability, change control, resiliency, audit, and regulatory considerations. • Proven expertise in RHEL engineering, systems performance tuning, and production platform design. • Strong background in building standardized, reusable architecture patterns with a “design once, use many” approach. • Demonstrated experience with AWS and Azure, including secure networking, storage integration, identity controls, and hybrid deployment models. • Advanced knowledge of enterprise compute and storage infrastructure, including Dell PowerEdge servers and Dell EMC storage platforms. • In-depth knowledge of authentication, DNS, and time synchronization services in distributed, performance-sensitive environments. • Strong proficiency in infrastructure automation and scripting using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Pulumi, Bash, and Python. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with engineering teams, operations teams, application owners, and business leadership.
• Experience supporting infrastructure for equities, options, futures, fixed income, or other capital markets trading platforms. • Familiarity with low-latency infrastructure design, market hours operational support, and production change controls in front-office environments. • Experience designing platforms that support regulatory, surveillance, disaster recovery, and operational resiliency requirements in financial markets. • Background leading engineering standards, architectural reviews, and platform modernization initiatives.
