About this role
Scope https://www.getscope.ai/ automates the data collection that’s slowing down the physical world.
Standards are vital for the safety of our infrastructure. Spending hours manually documenting them is not.
Dave is an inspector. Today he’s climbing through one of Europe’s biggest chemical plants, looking for the corrosion that could shut the whole site down, with a notebook and pen in hand. Tomorrow, he’ll spend even longer on the part of the job he hates: turning those scribbles into a report.
We’re building the best AI-native data collection layer for the 2 billion field workers like Dave. Scope radically simplifies how inspectors collect data in the field, make decisions, and produce reports. Along the way, we’re building the world’s largest dataset on the condition of the built world and the decisions experts make about it.
It’s a $2T market and we’re just getting started, with ambitions. We have grown revenue 10x in the last year and on track to reach 10M ARR in 2026. We work with 6 of the top 10 companies in the space. Our customers inspect facilities and products for companies including AstraZeneca and SpaceX.
We’ve assembled a best-in-class team: acquired and future founders, people from institutions like Imperial, Carnegie Mellon and Oxford, and from firms like Goldman Sachs, Flexport and Amazon.
Since launching from Entrepreneurs First in 2024, we’ve raised $4m in seed funding from Susa Ventures across two rounds and raised an oversubscribed $20m round led by Index Ventures https://www.indexventures.com/ (backers of Figma, Revolut and Wiz - 100+ unicorns to date).
We work in service of giving inspectors superpowers, building report writing tools that changes their lives and jobs - and increases company bottom line margins 10-20%, cuts reporting time 80% and doubles their capacity overnight.
As Product Ops, you own how good the template experience is from start to finish. The job goes beyond building what's been requested. It's about making templates that inspectors in the field can actually use, and helping clients get up and running on Scope.
You'll be responsible for whether a template is usable, whether it fits the way inspectors really work, how easily new users can be onboarded, and how feedback turns into real improvements. A template that's been built but doesn't work well in practice isn't finished. Closing that gap is what this role is for. So while you'll do plenty of template building, this isn't an execution-only role.
The work pulls together a few things: building templates, product judgement, an eye for what users need, clear communication, and the ability to train and onboard people. You'll work closely with our internal teams and with the inspectors who use Scope every day.
What You'll Do:
- Build usable templates. Build and improve templates in the Scope system that are simple, practical, and easy to use in the field. The goal is to cover what's needed without overcomplicating things, and to match how inspectors actually work.
- Spot product issues. Work out what users are trying to do, find where they get stuck, and identify the product and template problems causing friction. Take what you learn from user sessions and feedback and turn it into clear improvements, sensibly prioritised.
- Onboard and train inspectors. Write clear, practical training materials and run onboarding sessions that help people pick up Scope quickly and get value from it.
- Communicate clearly. Explain your thinking, your reasoning, and your tradeoffs in a way that lands, both with internal teams and with the people you're supporting.
- Drive adoption. Take ownership of the whole template experience and help clients adopt Scope, improving workflows without making them more complicated.
About Scope: We're a venture-backed AI startup in Clerkenwell, London, on a mission to transform industrial safety and efficiency. It's a fast-paced place with a lot of ownership on offer, and the work has a direct impact on real infrastructure and critical operations. We've grown revenue 10x in a year and we're scaling fast.
What We're Looking For:
Someone who takes pride in their work and likes getting things done. The things that tend to make people successful here are:
- Product judgement. You understand how people use a product, you notice friction, and you can suggest sensible fixes.
- An eye for the user. You care about the inspector's experience and can put yourself in their shoes.
- A feel for templates and workflows. You can build things that are simple, practical, and easy to use.
- Communication. You explain your thinking clearly, both in writing and in person.
- Training ability. You can onboard people well and make materials that actually help them adopt the product.
You should be happy working with ambiguity and able to get going without being told exactly what to do. A strong analytical foundation matters more to us than where you studied, though we work with a sharp team and you'll be expected to hold your own.
Strong communication is a must, since you'll work closely across the team and deal directly with the inspectors and clients who use Scope.
Where This Leads
We're putting together clear paths to grow from Product Ops, including into engineering and into deployment strategy and account ownership. If you do good work and take ownership, there's plenty of room to move.
Compensation & Location:
The base salary is £35,000 to £50,000 a year depending on experience and skill.
This is a London role, 5 days a week on-site at our Clerkenwell office. We typically work 9-7, reflecting the pace and ambition of a team in hyper-growth. To make those days easier, we provide daily lunch and a fully stocked snack supply in the office, so you're well fuelled to do your best work.
If you're excited by the challenge of building the operational backbone of transformative AI deployments in critical industries and have a passion for driving real-world impact with a high-growth startup, we want to hear from you.
Please note: we're unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role. You'll need existing right to work in the UK to apply.
