Own the data behind customer lifetime value and repeat bookings at Rover — modeling how customers behave over time and turning a large event-based warehouse into reporting our leaders actually trust. A senior, hands-on analytics role on our Barcelona team.
About the role
Rover's Barcelona analytics team has one north star: grow customer lifetime value and drive more repeat bookings across both sides of our marketplace of pet parents and sitters. As a senior individual contributor, you'll own the models, metrics, and reporting that explain how customers retain, churn, and come back — and you'll dig into why.
You'll report to the Analytics Manager and partner closely with data engineering and the teams responsible for retention and growth.
This is a hybrid role: we're in our Poblenou office two days a week (Mondays and Thursdays), so you'll need to be based in Barcelona or willing to relocate.

Rover is an equal-opportunity employer committed to promoting a diverse, inclusive, and inventive environment with the best employees. We’re driven by seeing our people succeed and grow, and we work to ensure everyone contributes to their fullest potential. We consider all qualified applicants without regard to age, race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, disability, protected veteran status, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or any other protected status in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances.

• Model customer lifetime value and retention. Build the cohort, retention-curve, and LTV models that show how customer value develops over time — and make them something the business can actually steer by. • Own reporting leaders trust. Build and maintain the dashboards, data models, and reporting layers leadership leans on day-to-day, and proactively fix what's noisy, inconsistent, or missing. You'll be the go-to when a number looks off. • Root-cause the metrics. When retention or repeat-booking behavior shifts, find out why, tie it to demand- and supply-side marketplace dynamics, and bring a clear narrative to the people who need to act. • Write SQL against large event-based datasets , build transformation models (dbt or similar), and review and improve code from other analysts. • Partner with data engineering to QA business logic and keep our data clean, well-modeled, and measurable from day one.
• 3+ years using data to drive business impact — finding insights, telling the story, and partnering with cross-functional teams to act on them. • Strong SQL, including confidence with complex queries on large datasets and reviewing others' code. • Experience modeling customer behavior — cohorts, retention, lifetime value, or segmentation. • Solid grounding in statistical analysis with Python or R. • A clear communicator who makes complex analysis land with technical and non-technical audiences. • Experience with a data visualization tool (e.g., Mode, Looker, Tableau).
• Experience in a two-sided marketplace, subscription, or consumer business — and a feel for LTV/CAC dynamics. • Familiarity with transformation models (dbt or similar) and a point of view on what makes a good data model. • Experience with event or product analytics (e.g., Amplitude). • Familiarity with any of our stack: Amazon Redshift, dbt, Mode, Statsig, Amplitude, Iterable, or Hightouch. • Experience mentoring analysts or raising the technical bar without formal management. • Experience putting agentic AI tools (e.g., Claude) to work in your analytics workflow — to speed up SQL, analysis, or documentation.
• Long-term incentive plan with a company performance-based cash payout • Pension plan • Private medical insurance • 25 days PTO • Meal allowance and flexible compensation plan (transport and nursery) • Gym membership • €450 to cover the costs associated with the adoption of a pet • Annual €150 wellness reimbursement • Flexible work hours, sometimes you'll need to be in at certain times, but on the whole, we're pretty flexible when it comes to managing workload and time • Grab snacks, fresh fruit, in our kitchen to keep yourself going • Regular team activities, events, game nights, and more • Dog-friendly office
• In the greater Barcelona area the first-year salary range is €47,124 - €60,319. • The cash compensation offered for this role will be dependent on the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and abilities as demonstrated in the interview and hiring process.
