About this role
QuiX Quantum is at the forefront of the development of photonic quantum computing, a rapidly developing sector. Since our start in 2019, we have presented two world record-breaking quantum photonic processors. These are low-loss, multimode, reconfigurable interferometer s, that allow the user to perform arbitrary, controlled interference between a number of optical channels, in the classical or quantum domain. QuiX Quantum's processors are industry-leading in the number of optical channels (20), low loss (2.9 d B ), and high transformation fidelity (99%) , making them an excellent solution for many applications. Not only in quantum computing, but also for quantum communication, QRNG, machine learning, and more. As a fast-growing company, we are now looking for an intern or a Master’s thesis student at our office in Stuttgart, Germany .
What will you be doing?
As a n intern or student you will be part of the engineering team that works on assembling, testing and delivering our photonic processors to our customers. Your tasks will be focussed analysing , documenting and optimization of our production and quality assurance processes .
You will take care of:
• Analysis, documentation, design and optimization of processes ensuring efficient production.
• Application of best practices in lean management, operational excellence and quality management.
Y ou will c ollaborate with a multidisciplinary team of experts in quantum computing, photonics, electronics, theory, and experimental physics.
What we ask of you:
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and enrollment in a master’s program
• Knowledge in production and operation processes and optimization
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• An organized and methodical style of working with excellent documentation skills.
The following would be an advantage :
• Knowledge in lean management and operational excellence.
• Knowledge in quality assurance and management (ISO 9001, 5S).
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Experience with photonic devices and/or quantum photonic computation.
• Experience with software management.
• Proficiency in spoken and/or written German.
