Location: Newport News, VA
Shift: 1st Shift
Pay Rate: Starts at $17.00/Hour and may be higher depending on experience.

Powder Coating Operations • Set up, adjust, and operate powder coating systems, including both manual spray equipment and automated finishing lines • Apply electrostatic powder coatings to metal products while maintaining consistent appearance and coverage • Load, hang, and position components on conveyor systems with proper spacing and grounding techniques • Confirm correct powder types, colors, and specifications before beginning production runs Surface Preparation & Processing • Perform cleaning, masking, rinsing, and pre-treatment procedures to prepare materials for finishing • Conduct water sampling and testing during pre-treatment operations to help maintain process control and coating performance • Monitor curing oven performance and make necessary adjustments to support quality and production requirements Quality Assurance • Inspect completed parts for coating thickness, finish quality, appearance, and overall compliance with specifications • Use inspection equipment and visual evaluation techniques to verify product standards • Identify coating defects, inconsistencies, or process concerns and take corrective action when necessary Documentation & Equipment Care • • Maintain accurate production records, quality logs, and equipment maintenance documentation • Assist with troubleshooting equipment, process flow issues, and coating-related challenges • Support housekeeping efforts and maintain an organized work area in accordance with company and OSHA safety guidelines
• At least three years of experience in powder coating, industrial painting, or related finishing operations • Understanding of powder application methods and surface preparation procedures • Strong visual inspection abilities and attention to detail • Familiarity with material handling practices and manufacturing production workflows • Ability to follow work instructions, quality standards, and operating procedures • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working around industrial equipment
• SSPC and/or PCI certification • Experience working with automated finishing systems or PLC-controlled equipment • Previous employment within sheet metal fabrication, metal manufacturing, or industrial production environments
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds • Capable of standing for extended periods and performing repetitive motions throughout the workday • Ability to bend, reach, and work in an active manufacturing setting • Comfortable working in varying temperatures commonly found in industrial facilities • Must successfully complete a general physical examination and respirator medical evaluation
