About the Role:
OLAPLEX is seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Senior Creative Packaging Designer to elevate our brand’s physical presence in the market. In this role, you will be the creative guardian of our packaging ecosystem, ensuring that every bottle, label, and other packaging components tell a compelling story that is true to our brand aesthetic while remaining cost-effective, sustainable, and manufacturable. You will lead the creative roadmap from conception through execution for both primary and secondary packaging.
Reporting to the Vice President of Creative, you will collaborate closely with Marketing, R&D, Product Development, and Packaging Engineering to bring market-leading concepts to life.
Key Responsibilities

• Creative Concepting : Develop innovative, on-brand packaging concepts, layouts, and structural designs that differentiate our products across professional salons, retail, and DTC

• Prototyping: Create physical and digital mockups, 3D renderings, and prototypes to visualize designs and test functionality, unboxing experiences, and shelf appeal

• Production & Pre-Press : Translate design intent into flawless, print-ready mechanicals. Ensure precise dielines, typography, color accuracy, and compliance with industry and regulatory labeling standards

• Material Sourcing : Research and recommend premium, sustainable materials, coatings, finishes, and manufacturing techniques to minimize environmental impact

• Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with Sourcing, Product Development, and external manufacturing vendors to ensure design feasibility, structural integrity, and production quality

• Mentorship & Leadership : Provide creative direction and constructive feedback to junior designers, fostering a culture of high-quality craftsmanship and creative rigor

• Visual Merchandising & Retail Experience: Conceptualize and design in-store visual assets, optimizing product positioning to maximize shelf presence, consumer engagement, and alignment with modern retail environments

• Display & Glorifier Engineering: Develop structural layouts and physical mock-ups for product displays, custom glorifier builds, and seasonal promotional activations to elevate physical storytelling at the point of sale

• Shelf Optimization & Fit: Formulate precise structural footprints and dimensional specifications ensuring secondary packaging achieves a seamless fit and commanding presence across diverse global retail shelves

About You:

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or a related field

• 7–10 years of professional experience in packaging design, preferably within Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), luxury, or lifestyle brands with a minimum of 3 years of experience designing for retail environments, with a strong understanding of in-store visibility, shelf merchandising constraints, and point-of-sale consumer behavior

• Design Prowess that brings a stellar portfolio showcasing exceptional typography, layout, color theory, and a strong understanding of 3D forms

• Deep understanding of printing processes (offset, flexography, digital), dielines, folding cartons, corrugate, and rigid box structures

• Outstanding presentation and communication skills, with the ability to confidently pitch ideas and gracefully defend design decisions to internal stakeholders

• Structural Display Design: Proven track record of developing functional, eye-catching structural concepts for retail displays, secondary packaging, and bespoke product glorifiers

• Three-Dimensional Spatial Awareness: Strong proficiency in evaluating and execution of dimensional limits, footprint constraints, and structural fit requirements across diverse physical retail fixtures
