Senior Backend Engineer Lead

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend APIs and platform services • Develop backend systems using Node.js, Express.js, and PostgreSQL • Integrate with banking, payment, and financial APIs • Collaborate with cross-functional product and engineering teams on new platform capabilities • Contribute to system architecture and technical design decisions • Ensure backend reliability, performance, and scalability • Support the development of fintech and SaaS product features for international markets • Work closely with overseas stakeholders and distributed engineering teams
• Strong backend engineering experience with modern JavaScript ecosystems • 5+ years of experience with: • JavaScript • Node.js • API development • 2+ years of experience with: • Express.js • PostgreSQL • System architecture / backend design • Experience building fintech, payment, marketplace, or SaaS platforms • Strong understanding of API design and backend system integration • Comfortable working in fast-paced startup or product-driven environments • Strong ownership mindset and ability to work independently • Excellent collaboration and communication skills • Fluent English communication skills are essential • Ability to work flexible hours to collaborate with US-based teams • Candidates should already be based in Taipei
