We are seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented Principal Engineer, Architecture to support the Engineering Architecture function at InvoiceCloud. This role plays a critical part in defining and evolving the technical foundations that power our secure, high-scale SaaS platform.
The ideal candidate operates as a senior technical authority and trusted partner—capable of owning complex architectural decisions, collaborating across engineering, product, and operations, and shaping platform direction through influence and technical excellence.
Reporting to the VP, Engineering Architecture, this role leads enterprise-wide architectural initiatives, guides large-scale modernization efforts, and ensures alignment between long-term technology strategy and business objectives.

Owns end-to-end architectural design and evolution of mission-critical, multi-domain systems that underpin InvoiceCloud’s SaaS platform.

Requirements
•
20+ years of enterprise software engineering experience, with a proven track record leading and delivering large-scale architecture transformations
•
Strong background in financial services or FinTech, with preference for experience in payments, banking, or lending platforms
•
Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, cloud-native architectures, and event-driven design at enterprise scale
•
Advanced understanding of Agile delivery, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps, and automated testing practices
•
Familiarity with AI frameworks and tools such as Semantic Kernel, Azure OpenAI, and LangChain, and their application in modern software and platform design
•
Strong working knowledge of security and compliance frameworks, including HIPAA, PCI, and SOC 2
•
Exceptional communication and technical leadership skills, with the ability to influence decision-making at all levels of the organization
Hands-on experience with:
•
.NET technologies (C#, ASP.NET MVC / WebAPI)
•
Python and modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular)
•
SQL Server, T-SQL, and related data platforms
•
Azure DevOps, GitHub, and major cloud providers (Azure preferred)
•
Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
